tbh my favorite part about the prequels and prequel-related stuff is that you don’t realize just how much of a little shit R2D2 until you watch it
there’s a ton of examples but my fave is how in Empire Strikes Back, when R2 and Luke are going to Dagobah, and R2 does his damnedest to convince Luke that it doesn’t actually exist, when
he’s literally been there before
he has his memory wiped at the end of episode 3
That was 3PO.
R2 remembers Dagobah and hates it which is why he refuses to go there.
But yeah, 3PO gets wiped repeatedly which is why he never talks about past events, but R2-D2 has total continuity of mind from when he was a maintenance droid on Padme’s yacht through the latest movie. That’s why he’s such a little shit and also why he’s so good at what he does.

to elaborate: Disney is authoritarian right because of their unstoppable monopoly on the industry and emphasis on “classic” and “traditional” animated movies they’ve kept for decades and show no signs of stopping
Blue Sky is libertarian right because their flicks are very low risk and their most famous franchises ice age and rio have ongoing morals of family values. they will not put out a controversial movie, they are here for the free market
Dreamworks is the libertarian left college student. many experimental weird movies that have odd twist morals and many subverted tropes. when they’re good it’s really good but when it’s bad it’s nonsensical chaos.
the authoritarian left emerged suddenly in the annals of modern history, prophesied as the ultimate alternative to the political right. despicable me’s sudden success in 2010 from a no-name studio shook the playing ground. there was suddenly a new Disney competitor nobody saw coming, and many people had faith in Illumination Entertainment. however power soon turned to madness, as the studio soon revealed itself to be the ultimate profit making machine. beneath the guise of cute animals and minion propaganda is an unstoppable evil for pumping cash. even Disney wants to create revenue movies that will age indefinitely and have quality, but Illumination is a black hole of dated references and throw away flicks. they must be stopped.
