to help with decision making when going on a date, my bf and i created a list of 20 restaurants we like. 1 being ihop (as a joke, neither of us actually like ihop), 20 being our favorite steakhouse, with the rest in no particular order. we roll a d20 and go to the corresponding place
after i wrote the list down, he goes “roll it, let’s go to dinner tomorrow night!” i got excited, he got a die out, and i fucking CRIT FAILED and now we’re FORCED to go to ihop tomorrow because both of us are too stubborn to back out omg
im currently on the phone with him and im saying “what time you wanna go” and he’s all “to ihop? what time are we going to ihop?” omg he just keeps saying ihop to emphasize how dumb we are
pro tip: if your dad thing ever makes you stay in the house fuck shit up. turn human. fuck with his potions. let all the fucking ocean creatures into your house. turn your sisters into large golden fish. you’re five
here is cagney! so yeah, as you can see, I imagine him as some kind of bossman of the forrest follies, I guess like a gang
(this guy lost his soul to the devil, don’t look at me like if is not half true) tho those activities are kind of half secret so he is probably best know at isle 1 as just the super tall cute looking guy with the awful huge garden and temper just as big and awful
rosexknight asked: I honestly think the Rick and Marty fandom gets too hyped about that kinda stuff. Like, there are people who see Rick’s word as law and that’s why the thing with the sauce happened. Then there are those who think you genuinely need a super-high IQ to get all the jokes in the show, and that watching it without that is worthless. I feel like it’s a really pretentious fandom and SOMEHOW given Rick’s character it fits perfectly.
Sad but true. I might not get ALL the literary and philosophical ‘sophisticated’ jokes and references but that doesn’t matter because I personally appreciate the psychology and dynamic of the characters. There’s more to the show than just being smart, it’s also downsides of being too smart, too pretentious, too arrogant. Shows the flaws of a family trying to force itself to function like what’s EXPECTED of a family unit, shows how unhealthy relationships can progress or fluctuate for better or worse…
Oh and there’s butt jokes. Lots and lots of butt jokes.
But anyway as Einstein said, “The definition of genius is taking the complex and making it simple.”
If a show was REALLY just made for ‘smart’ people, it wouldn’t cater to those of ‘lesser’ intelligence, but then it would isolate only a select group of people instead of doing the actual smart thing and including the whole with some attempt to simplify certain complex ideas so even the most simple minds can appreciate and enjoy it, regardless of if they wholly understand or not.
thats not even touching up on the people who use ricks behavior as a reason to justify their own shitty behavior. Who see rick as a role model despite the fact that he is a very very terrible person and has been given a “reason you suck” speech which pissed those very same people off.
