woah wait okay so the tradition of marriage where the wife takes the husband’s name makes no godamn sense. It is only a 100% certainty that the woman is passing her genes down, the father could be someone other than the person she’s married. So it would make sense that the woman’s family name be carried on, as it’s clearly her children
It’s an option for the wife to change her surname if she wants to. She isn’t forced to have her husband’s name.

I didn’t say it was law, I said it was a tradition, and the tradition makes no sense.
Obviously I know couples can choose which last name to keep.
I’ve actually had to explain what a tip is to waitresses before. They thought it was change and kept trying to give it back to us.
