fyi guys
‘the office type’ is a game in development you’ll be hearing about a lot. its transphobic garbage. it heavily implies you have to be pansexual to date trans people, it calls non-binary a ‘third gender’ and their current representation of NB people is what appears to be a 50/50 male/female mix.
the devs themselves refuse to listen to these legitimate concerns. i tried talking to them about it on twitter and instead of acknowledging that i, an actual IRL non-binary person, found their current actions to be transphobic, they just kept arguing with me like a bunch of children instead of saying something a simple as ‘we’re sorry to hear that, we’ll do better’
i highly recommend you stay away from that game or you at least hope that they listen to the actual concerns of trans people and make changes.

This game isn’t going to fit your exact ideals, because nothing EVER pleases you and everyone who complains about this stuff. Stop speaking for all LGBT+. Not every Trans, nonbinary, Cis and others give a shit. Literally, the game is to be played to have fun, explore more open options compared to other mainstream dating sims which don’t exactly include all that they are going to….
As some who idenitifies as transgender, I wholeheartedly couldn’t give a single fuck about this game and if it gets everything to a tea.
Literally, I’m just like “Oh shit? I can date a cute person without being limited? That’s all that matters.”
Sure, exposure for us, the LGBT+ Community is great… but we literally can’t have any if you keep trying to tear it down before it can even shine!!!

Again, to reiterate. Stop trying to destroy a game that hasn’t even come out yet. You’re just making assumptions that could ruin it, and then you bitch that there isn’t any representation… because you tear down every little bit that may come up! Seriously, Stop! Appreciate what we have and appreciate that we’re even being included! You forget that MANY developers are scared of even trying to do LGBT+ games because of this type of shit, which I honestly don’t blame them at all.
Now, that doesn’t mean we can’t criticize it and it’s possible faults. No, this is just meant for everyone whose hoping on the bandwagon and trying to destroy it because it doesn’t go by “your definition” of whatever LGBT+ exposure might be.

Criticizing the game is fine, but what the fuck, the game’s not even out and people are already lambasting it and saying things that are blatantly untrue. I’m pansexual with two non binary partners. I probably won’t play this game but we’re happy anyone is making an effort to try to branch out from Dating Sim norms; in spite of all the knee-jerky bullshit from frothing idiots in the community, who want to take a smelly shit on the doorstep before anyone’s walked over it because they didn’t like the choice of Welcome Mat. (Forget what’s actually in the house, they didn’t have a mat with frills or their favorite colors!)
‘Third gender’ is not inherently transphobic, not all of the characters have been released, we have no current examples of gameplay or writing. These people need to calm the fuck down. LGBTQIA people are going to keep being labeled as “untouchable” when this keeps happening. We’re not saying don’t criticize–we’re saying give it a chance, encourage the good, and make suggestions for improvement later. These people are the other side of the “This is just SJW Pandering” dipshit crowd who don’t think people in video games should be anything but white/male/straight/cisgender. Gender and sexuality is very diverse and wonderful, but not every game is going to treat gender and sexuality in the same way, either.
