CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT is Steve Harrington going from popular jock with tubular hair, to doting mom with a dish towel on his shoulder, hands on his hips, and telling kids to stay out of trouble

A huge chunk of Steve’s character development was rejecting toxic masculinity and letting himself be the naturally caring and empathic person he is and I am here for it

i keep thinking about like

in a similar vein to websites being restricted to people aged 13+ on earth

what if,, websites on alternia,, required you to be of a certain blood hue to join

like imagine never being able to join grubbook or trollblr your entire life just because you’re a couple of points below the expected hue for someone to be using that website

okay but like assuming the average human life expectancy is 65 years, and the usual age limit for joining a social network is 13 years, that means that about one seventh of ages aren’t allowed on said networks

and assuming the highest legal blood hue is 330 (feferi’s blood hue), dividing 330 by 7 gives approximately 47

a blood colour of hue 47 looks like this:

image

which is about a halfway between bronze and gold.

so like… anybody with a blood colour below gold proper would be restricted from joining websites on the internet and i am cackling

I base all my blood stuff on hues too and THIS IS A GOOD IDEA A+

HIGHBLOODS SENDING THEIR LOWBLOOD FRIENDS LINKS AND THEN GOING “oh wait lmao i forgot ur like 12” – @shakesquad

Consider:

-”HOT STUFF” Accounts, the equivalent of restricted kid accounts. Ie: predetermined phrases, pm features missing, customization limited to presets, etc.

-Highblooded quadrants having to fill out consent forms to let their lowblooded partner have full accounts.

-Quadrental controls instead of Parental on like everything, portable gaming devices, communicators, TVs.

-QG = Quadrant Guidance at movies.

-Specialized lowblood sites that are almost free reign but require a Highblood account to also be made that can see and control everything going in and out.

-Lowbloods not having a grumblr/trollblr or whatever until they’ve been sent off planet and are finally determined “mature enough”

-Hemoanonymous chat roulette sites/forums being very popular

-Forums made by and for lowbloods where they talk about ways to cheat the system and get into sites.

#WHERES THAT POST ABT HOW WEBSITES ARE RESTRICTED BASED ON UR PLACE ON THE HEMOSPECTRUM • #this is that  (x)

@pierrottrolls here you go mate

highblood site:

image

what if its a shitty honor system too like, you have to go and select your blood colour from a list and theres nothing that really checks to see your lying. its not until you brag about your age or post pictures that an admin takes a look at your contribution to the site and determines whether or not youre a lowblood

Net neutrality is the principle that Internet providers like Comcast & Verizon should not control what we see and do online. In 2015, startups, Internet freedom groups, and 3.7 million commenters won strong net neutrality rules from the US Federal Communication Commission (FCC). The rules prohibit Internet providers from blocking, throttling, and paid prioritization—"fast lanes" for sites that pay, and slow lanes for everyone else.

John Oliver on the danger of ending net neutrality:

On what ending net neutrality means for us:

Time to call your members of Congress, again.

Please guys, don’t ignore this stuff. This will negatively affect everyone and we need to stop it.

Prepare to be annoyed by me because I’ll never stop reposting about this until something is done

I hate diverging into reality on here. But this will end the internet as we know it. Its one thing you should hate if you’re left or right wing. Its not about promoting business. Its corporate greed. 3 big telecom companies gaining control of everything.

So call your senators. And your representative. Tell them to make net neutrality law. Then call them the next day. And then the day after. And keep calling every single day. Fax them. Email them. Best yet show up at their offices in person. At town halls. At public appearances. Do not let up.

I was so shocked when I found out that the Shadow Realm wasn’t even a real concept in the Yugioh universe but, rather, an invention by 4kids to avoid mentioning death in the English dub

WHAT

WH

WHAT

MY SWEET SWEET FRIENDS

LORDY

U DO NOT KNOW ABOUT YUGIOH!!

YUGIOH WAS 100% ORIGINALLY… A HORROR MANGA
, I AM HONESTLY NOT KIDDING YOU, it was intended to be a violent horror manga

GO ON, GO TRY AND READ IT ON MANGAFOX. IT’S FUCKED UP.

Before the concept of Duel Monsters was even introduced to the series, Yugioh was about Yami Yuugi basically being a murderous fuck who enjoyed punishing people with ‘shadow games’ that ended with losers being, uh, electrocuted to death, burnt alive, and a whole host of other horrific deaths. Other screwed up subplots include Kaiba being totally obsessed with murdering Yuugi/Yami and building an entire theme park to try to do so, Mokuba (Kaiba’s sweet lil brother) attempting to kill half the cast by forcing them to compete in a Russian Roulette with poisoned food, Anzu/Tea being drugged by a classmate with chloroform and almost assaulted, Jounouchi/Joey being kidnapped by a gang he’s been hanging out with and tortured with tasers before Yami electrocutes the gang and kills them all, quite happily, to save Jounouchi, multiple people getting set on fire, a man getting his head bitten off by Shadi’s pet crocodile Amet monster, the list goes on and on.  I’m not entirely sure if it’s included in the anime or not, but Bakura gouges out Pegasus’ eyeball.

I honestly ended up stopping reading the manga because it was getting to be too violent and morbid for even my tastes

So yeah, in the original Duel Monsters Yugioh anime, people die. Death is a real threat. Even though it’s significantly toned down from the original first few arcs of the manga, which are just bizarre. Almost every instance of characters being sent to the ‘shadow realm’ in the 4Kids dub is censored ‘I’m going to murder you’ plot points. Oh boy does 4 Kids tone down the violence.

Here’s a delightful episode from the anime some may remember; Yami Yuugi fights some weird stage magician guy and during the duel they’re both strapped into buzzsaws which slowly approach their feet as they lose life points. No biggy - the loser just gets sent to the shadow realm!

image

Except in the original, the threat is that the loser of the game is going to get their legs sawn off and bleed to death.

So, yknow, now you know that not only did they censor Kaiba’s gun, but just a whole bunch of brutal violence and murder as well!

A lesser known fact about Yugioh is that there’s a missing season - Season 0, aired in 1998, which follows the plot line of the original initial manga volumes before Yugioh became an anime and manga about playing card games. It’s still significantly toned down from the manga but is a little closer to theme and vibe.

So yeah, welcome to Yugioh, which is definitely intended for little children!

Anonymous asked: im probably wrong but wasnt it actually said in canon that rustbloods live 24 sweeps?? which is like 50 or so years?

banishedquasiroyal:

I dunno man but it feels about right yeah

I think part of it is cause of poor living conditions and the rate at which they’re murdered. I assume if they were alllowed good health they’d live longer?

consider: most trolls have a base lifespan of 100 or so earth years, but due to the lack of resources provided by their shitty government (and mass propoganda on highblood/tyrian regime’s part), it’s highly unlikely to see most lowbloods even live to adulthood

thoguh in beforus the lower castes still had much shorter lifespans than the higher ones which is why the highbloods had the duty of teaching and guiding the lowbloods

The Bechdel Test

Alison Bechdel’s original 1985 Dykes To Watch Out For strip that became known as “The Bechdel Test.”

never forget that this was originally meant to demonstrate that lesbian representation was so rare that you wouldn’t even see two named women interact in a platonic manner let alone in a sexual or romantic one onscreen.

That’s a pretty bold claim given that lesbians and lesbian representation was never brought up once in this strip.  This strip is pretty clearly about female representation in fiction and how far too often a woman is only seen as worth including in a movie as a love interest for the male protagonist.  Lesbian representation is also important, but let’s not lie as to what famous comics are saying to make a point, okay?  Okay.

it’s fucking dykes to watch out for dumbfuck
