Sometimes when people say that a speculative creature is too far fetched to be “realistic” you just have to remind them that we have, in this very timeline, an extant dinosaur that evolved to fill the ecological niche of a bee.

Little late on the follow up but I just want to add that nature, in itself, seems unnatural/is incredibly unusual.
Relating to biology alone:
90% of giraffe sex is gay, there are bacteria that eat electricity, like 1% of the content in a coelacanth’s braincase is actually its brain, the hummingbird thing, ostriches think humans are more attractive than other ostriches, insects fly using modified gills, cetaceans exist, there are functionally immortal Cnidarians, fungi, some plants purposely entice animals to eat certain parts of them, there are bugs with gears for legs, “worms” so saturated in stem cells that they can be cut into several pieces and grow into more worms, marine worms with bodies that branch like plants, parasitic crustaceans, etc…
The list could go on.
There’s a snail that’s a parasite in sea cucumbers and it looks like a snail until it finds a host and then it metamorphoses into just a ribbon of reproductive tissue exactly like a tapeworm :)

Bowser Jr. helping Morton out with babysitting the gang of triplets, Red, Bloo, and Grene Koopa!
I’ve had the initial sketch sitting around on my harddrive for a long while and I figured I could repurpose it for something new; glad I kept it around! owo
FUNFACTS:
-Morton is an excellent babysitter; despite his mass and strength he’s very gentle and has a way with kids; to them, all they see is the biggest teddybear around! Ever since he began working at the Waffle Kingdom Bakery, Luigi installed a little area where parents could drop their kids off for a time under Morton’s watchful eye. Ever since then, he’s been getting more calls for kidsitting, but Morton doesn’t mind at all. :}
-The three little koopas are the Koopa Kids, a trio of little KaijuKoopas who show up in the Mario Party games. They don’t actually have names, hence the rather very obviously connected ones I gave them x3 They are not in any way related to Bowser, but they are frequent charges to Morton. They love him to death and see him as the big brother they never had ;w;
-Jr. is typically too busy with learning how to run the kingdom to have a job in his teen years, but when he does get the free time he likes to hang out in parks and paint. In this particular instance he just kinda tagged along with Morton on an outing with his current charges, and finds himself very surprised by how much fun he has hanging out with the rambunctious kiddos.
-KaijuKoopa is the name I give Bowser’s breed since they canonically don’t actually have one. They’re the largest known Koopas in existence, easily growing to be the size of bears, or larger! While the royal family of Koopa Kingdom are generally KaijuKoopas, the breed isn’t necessarily exclusively in the royal family; there’s a fair bit of them amongst the common citizens of the kingdom, such as the trio here. :]
