look i want to be clear that i have no problem with this but it still is, on a conceptual level, a very funny image that seems very particular to the time and place we are at right now and i needed everyone else to see it. antifa furries, you have my full support.

my pet peeve are fic summaries with something deep and obscure that not only tell me nothing about the story but dont MEAN anything theyre just words like

so far the only points against going with this site:
the fact you seem to have to Achieve Popularity (or pay them?? unclear) to be able to change your comic to header to a normal banner image instead of whatever horrible color they have designated the genre of your comic (neon purple for fantasy, a color i don’t hate but clashes with almost every palette i use)
the fact they have a star rating system, which i really wish i could disable since its only function seems to make you feel pompous when it’s highish and shitty when it’s lowish, both of which have happened to me in the several hours since i experimentally published. I’m not against review systems but this TELLS ME NOTHING, because all scores are mashed into an average, and for all i know the high ratings are because i appealed to someone’s very specific spider tf kink, and the low ones are because my comic doesn’t feature pretty anime girls and Tolkien races. Giving text options for reviews would be immensely more helpful than a single star score.

The reason why Samurai Jack takes place in the future is very interesting and now that the fifth season is coming out on Adult Swim, funny in retrospect.
Director Genndy Tartakovsky wanted Samurai Jack to be a cartoon tribute to the Samurai movies he used to watch and was fond of, but there was a problem in the way. The problem wasn’t a creative problem or legal issues, but a problem of censorship.
Those Samurai movies were very very violent. People often had their limbs cut off, and blood was sprayed everywhere. Something that in a children’s cartoon could never happen.
Genndy’s solution was to find a loophole in the censorship and set the show in the future. Because while human guts and blood was unacceptable, robots and aliens being sliced to pieces, with oil, electronics and green goop spraying all over the place, was fine.
And so the plot became that of a time travelling Samurai.
But now, that Jack’s fifth season is on Adult Swim, where the limitations on blood and violence aren’t in place, the setting becomes somewhat ironic.
