The timeline for this latest liveshow is…. real whack. It’s pre-finale, but Magnus has the Flaming Raging Poisoning Sword of Doom? It’s definitely pre-Wonderland, just because the timeline doesn’t allow room between them, but clearly Merle still plagiarizes Taako’s line about liches getting stitches. Let’s not forget about Lucas, who we last saw on the run (and this can’t be pre-Crystal Kingdom since Magnus has the Chance Lance) but who apparently is being allowed to do wild science on everyone at the Bureau of Balance.
Then I realized, Lucretia doesn’t show up anywhere here. The chat without stone cold Lucretia zingers means she must not be around, because we all know she wouldn’t turn up a chance to throw down some lines. So I formulated my theory, this takes place shortly after the Eleventh Hour, when Lucretia had to leave the base for a few days to take care of things somewhere else, and things promptly went to hell.
One of their Seekers showed up with a captured Lucas Miller, miraculously not dead, and then Magnus, Taako, and Merle had to explain that it was all good, really, please don’t kill the twerp. Trying to smooth things over, Lucas offered to show them some of the Super Productive Projects he’s been working on in the interim, which led into “everyone in the Bureau of Balance test out this super cool thing I made”. Sans Director, that seemed like an awesome and not dangerous idea, so they did and after that in no particular order: Magnus convinced Lucas he should totally get the Flaming Raging Poisoning Sword of Doom in game, Carey and Killian invented Leet-speak and Leon loved it, Taako tried to invent breaking video games, Lucas’ machine turned evil, the Boyz nearly died, someone sprung Robbie out of jail, and Magnus took ecstasy.
Lucretia shows up in the aftermath with Starbucks and a new sunglasses, smelling faintly of essential oils, and promptly gets her vacation chill destroyed as she surveys the wreckage of the Bureau’s super cool weekend. Also, Lucas? You’re alive?
It still blows my mind that they were able to slip a Beyonce reference into LOK I love it
i dont think anyone understands the irony of this. that dance scene is from ‘girls run the world’ and literally ten minutes later kuvira shows up and declares herself empress. not only is it a beyonce reference, but its a FORESHADOWING beyonce reference that’s hella relevant
