when I was a kid, “parkour” was called “free-running,” which is a WAY cooler name in my opinion but anyway.
my older brother and I went through a a huge free-running phase, watching youtube videos about how to climb brick/stone walls and jump off high places safely etc.
I was already part-squirrel so it just made sense.
Eventually, we moved on from it when I was like thirteen but when that chicken flew onto the CVS Pharmacy roof and the only way to get to it was to shimmy up a concrete pole, brace myself against a chain-link fence, and then hop onto a brick ledge,
I was just like
[anime protag voice] “all of my training………… …was for this chicken.”

my brother was going through a ninja phase unrelated to naruto, I was in my naruto phase, and I guess we both like the idea of being able to jump off of building unscathed. It honestly worked out.
