My coworkers complain when we can’t assign homework over Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. As if somehow this interferes with their ability to teach their classes.
My coworkers complain that our Muslim students get to leave class to pray Salat at noon. Like, we have maybe one Muslim student every two or three years - thus far, all extraordinarily respectful and lovely kids! - and they slip quietly out of class to pray.
My coworkers find all this infuriating. “Imagine,” they cry, “If a Christian kid asked to do that.”
I calmly explain, every single time, that a Christian kid would never HAVE to do that, because every single Christian holy day is a day off school. Good Friday. Easter Sunday. Christmas day. Our entire country interrupts its financial and educational systems - schedules its WEEKS - around the Christian prayer customs and seasons.
God forbid we temporarily unclip the rope barrier and leave an opening for someone whose religious traditions vary from our own.

[All episodes have subtitles! No need to think language would be a problem]
Brief explanation:
1. There are two frisks/chara/player in the underground
2. There is no SAVE/LOAD/RESET
3. When the two Frisks are hurt, they don’t receive SOUL damage, but REAL LIFE damage (their arms get injured by Blooky’s tears, they get actually burnt by Toriel’s fire attacks)
4. The rest of the underground characters are somewhat the same, but due to the above changes, their reaction to the characters changes phenomenally.
For those of you who haven’t seen this I would definitely recommend it as a MUST watch. From the interactions to the animation… the music remixes and all of the details this is phenomenal to experience! It starts of really cute but then… well just to warn you it gets really dark REALLY quick. Please be careful it contains brutal scenes and graphic violence.

Don’t forget to put subtitles on!
i fukcing hate this show
This is the best scene in the entirety of IZ imo it’s literally perfect
according to the staff commentary for this episode, the script actually called for heavy traffic to be rushing past Dib and Zim in this scene, which is why they’re shouting at each other, and you can even still sort of hear the sound effects
but then, for whatever reason, in the finished episode they just
forgot the carsOther things like this include:
- the time the animation accidentally came back with one absurdly gigantic man running in the foreground, to which they decided to just add thunderous, stomping sounds.
- The time some walnuts came back in CG when they didn’t request any walnuts to be in CG, which at the time was very very expensive compared to now and contributed in the long run to their budgetary problems
- The time they scripted a giant monster (the mutant hamster, Ultra Peepi) walking through the city and the animation came out looking unintentionally like he was boogying to music so they inserted a bass voice singing “oooohhh, yyyeeeaahhhhh, ultra peeepiii”
I’m sure there are probably a bunch of others, I know there were a few points in the commentary where they were just “wait, who did this? Why did this happen?” - “I don’t remember, was it you??”
Then there were all those times the commentary just abruptly cut out and you can tell it’s probably because their conversations got too morbid or too filthy for a product with Nickelodeon’s branding on it
Invader zim is an experience
