Pokemon is good because everybody who plays is given the exact same storyline and choices, but every person has a completely unique experience.
There are currently over 750 trillion different team combinations, even each individual pokemon has only a 1 in 50 billion chance of being identical to another of the same species. And that’s not even including pokemon having different moves… That means that every Pokemon is a valuable once in a lifetime companion, and your adventure with your pokemon is and will always be completely unique to you, and that’s really special.
Kanaya has hilarious deadpan humor and the way the fandom treats her as the most generic fashionista vampire bullshit is really reductive of how unique she was.
Just because a character’s personality traits were low key doesn’t mean they didn’t exist, learn some nuance HS fandom, please.
Kanaya’s sense of humor isn’t even hidden like. She is such a sarcastic deadpan little fuck and it’s not even HIDDEN. the problem is, Kanaya being the “fashionista vampire Rose arm candy motherly nurture” is that it’s convenient for what the fandom prefers. They don’t care if she’s funny or not.

She’s also deadpan, and sometimes her humor isn’t that obvious? It is also occasionally at someone’s expense, which often conflicts with people’s solid and incorrect notion that Kanaya Maryam isn’t ever mean or kinda a jerk ever, but I feel like less she’s a jerk and more sometimes assholes deserve it, and sometimes something funny will just pop into her head so she’s gotta say it bc the moment is PERFECT.

Kanaya tends to get the really scathing stuff for assholes, like, she knows, she knows how to mess with people it’s really funny but it’s almost always deserved ppl justdon’t get her, I probably find her so damn funny because this is my sense of humor, but y’know.

you cannot tell me with a straight face that Kanaya doesn’t understand humor. Lots of people say that because she was confused by “Human Sarcasm”. She wasn’t confused by sarcasm, y nitwits, she was confused by the fact Rose used it a) constantly and b) used it to make friends the way she did. But I can confirm Kanaya Maryam is hilarious and there’s literally hundreds of examples throughout Homestuck, Roxy even confirms this. Roxy Lalonde, within an hour of meeting Kanaya Maryam, assessed that she was dangerous, beautiful, and funny, and I dunno about you Roxy is a scienist I believe her.
In short Kanaya is funny and let her be funny
