There are three trident fights in the movie. In the first one Arthur reluctantly lets Diana borrow the Trident of Kings because it’s an heirloom and she’s so much better at trident fighting than he is that he begs for lessons. The second one he throws her the trident without hesitation. The third one is Arthur vs. another Atlantean and he wins because the other Atlantean isn’t expecting Arthur to blend Atlantean and Themysciran combat styles
There’s a point where Arthur accidentally touches the Lasso and blurts out “I let people think I’m stupid because it’s easier to deal with living down to their expectations than having to be forced to live up to them” and he and Diana both just. Blink.
