You need to stop telling artists that whatever character they’ve drawn reminds you of another character. Even if you mean it as a compliment, it’s not; it’s dismissing the effort that artist put into drawing a character that they love.

yes people, just remember that overall no artist in any field really appreciates comparisons like that…

I’ve reblogged this before but this time I wanted to add:

this goes double for people’s ocs.

More often than not, if an artist’s original character resembles an unrelated existing one, they know and already feel self-conscious about it. Whenever I get a comment like this on my ocs, I always feel uncreative and cheap like all I did was subconsciously copy another character, even if I know I put a lot of effort in creating it.

MOM OF THE YEAR. WHERE WAS THIS ATTITUDE WHEN I WAS IN GRADE SCHOOL.

This is so weird, it’s a park? Who the hell thinks that a child they don’t know is obligated to share their possessions with their kids just cuz they play in a public space?

It might vary with where you live and when you were a child but when I was tiny, every adult from teachers to family to television characters hammered into me non-stop that all good people ALWAYS SHARE EVERYTHING no matter what and only bad people keep even a single thing for themselves. “Sharing is caring” was the phrase repeated ad nauseum by songs and books and cartoons aimed at us toddlers.

I remember my own uncle just insisting I give him literally half of my dessert once to just sort of test and make sure my parents were teaching me “right” and copping a massive attitude when I said no.

My mom actually sided with me there but most other adults I knew would never have done so. They’d have just lectured this small child on how selfish it is to not let just anyone and everyone have what you have.

do u think any of the kids (especially jane) were ever sleeping in the new universe and then their eyes just shoot open like “…we fought and killed popular webcomic characters the midnight crew”

side question: do u think any of the humans recognized hussie in the dreambubbles as the author of Problem Sleuth and the Midnight Crew? obviously they didnt really know what his deal was or why he was there but do u think any  recognized him and just went “…anyway” because thats just kinda what you do after the 15th bizarre twist paradox space has thrown at you

i mean if the apocalypse really did start and i ran into Hussie i probably wouldnt think twice about it either tbh

tbh i didn’t really consider that but you’re right i think i’d be more surprised if he wasn’t involved somehow

SHEEPLE

I love sheep and goats so much so here’s my attempt at a fantasy race where they’re all sheep/goat people

They’re mainly located in very hilly our mountainous areas, preferably with plenty of land to grow crops for food and trade
