uhg. UHG.

guys, please, for the love of god. if you see an artist drawing something that makes you uncomfortable, that’s FINE, but i’m begging you please don’t make posts about that artist criticizing them and encouraging other people to be hypercritical or judge them

please just don’t!! if you think there’s an issue, make a separate post and don’t mention the artist. if you don’t wanna see their stuff on your dash, BLACKLIST or BLOCK them! if you think they’re dangerous and you want your friends to be safe, tell your friends privately!

im so exhausted with the idea that people think it’s okay to point fingers at people they don’t like for xyz reason, just because they interpret their art in a way that makes them uncomfortable.

i’ve followed multiple artists for years who’ve had so much shit thrown at them by people who have no regard for said artist’s well-being. they just decide that person is being ‘bad’ for whatever reason, then think it’s morally sound to talk shit about them, publicly, where shitty assholes can have an excuse to dogpile and harass them.

and, look, it doesn’t matter if that’s your intention or not. slapping an ‘oh but this isn’t a callout post’ doesn’t make it any better.

it’s fine to not like something or even think it’s bad or harmful but when you make posts calling specific people using certain buzzwords, that can have serious retribution for that person’s mental health and livelihood.

its so much easier to just block or blacklist or vent to a friend or make a separate post that doesn’t have any art or names attached so you can talk about your concerns over that issue in a way that won’t hurt anyone. it’s that easy.

I scrolled back as far as I could on the tag for “The Cask of Amontillado” and I still can’t find a single reason why everyone’s posting about it all of the sudden

Look a little bit further, in the very back

My friend, I must confess I still cannot see it in the dim light of the tumblr search function.
