Scottish sculptor Rob Mulholland creates these eerie mirrored sculptures out of Perspex, a kind of acrylic glass.
The pieces create the uncanny effect of blending into their
surroundings, at times appearing almost completely camouflaged and yet
jumping out at you suddenly as your perspective shifts around them. (Source)
I’ve seen two more really infuriating anti ace posts today so I’m going to put it out there again:
Asexuals are not straight
Asexuals do not experience straight privilege
Erasure of identity isn’t privilege
Asexuals do indeed suffer in our society based on their sexual orientation
If you need an example set directly in your path: my sister is ace and I am pan. Our entire family is more accepting of my orientation than hers because it’s easier for them to fathom having any kind of partner than no partner. She has been invalidated, treated as if her orientation is a phase she is required to grow out of, and mocked since she reached the age where it was no longer appropriate to have never had a partner.
Asexuals have been submitted to conversion therapy and “corrective” rape to “fix” their orientation. Asexuals should not have to fight for their place in the queer community while also trying to survive the straights. None of us need that. Honestly it’s a lot like the anti bi and pan bullshit about being straight passing. This kind of shit needs to stop.
Heteronormativity harms asexuals and anyone who lumps them into that based on not having same-sex attraction can very seriously sit on a same-sex cactus.
I am Silver Tongue, I am an artist. I have many characters and you can check out my art in the art tag. I occasionally practice witchcraft though I don't do anything too complicated. I am girl 2 and don't know what else to put here.
