i’ll tell you what major aesthetic problem i DO have with frozen though
I HATE THIS DRESS.
not in a concerned mom way of it being ‘too revealing’ or whatever, but it just sticks out like a sore thumb in contrast to the other costume design?? i get the point that elsa wants to be free and ‘different’ but still, having more incorporation of the entire hostoric norway aesthetic would go a long way imo. i really love the design of elsa’s coronation dress. its got the folk motifs and everything going
but then i remember being so upset having to see her wearing….that thing for the majority of the film. even concepts like this still feel like they ‘belong’ in the universe and is more harmonious with the rest of the set
and this is only a mild critique, im not even talking about all the visual creativity that was lost in the early concept art….
one of my favorite things about a:tla is that everyone knows uncle iroh. everyone. the blind girl you just added to the gang? had tea with him once. that flower seller? yup. your ten-ton six-legged five-stomached flying bison? probably. that girl on the streets of ba sing se? he sent his nephew on a date with her. a whole tribe of thought-to-be-extinct sun warriors? nbd. your cranky waterbending master? they go way back. that dramatic deserter? your bro’s sword instructor? your 112 year old nuthouse friend? the next avatar 54 years later? sure
Ok, I lied, I have more Overwatch things I need to draw now. After a run of playing Zenyatta and getting hung out to dry a lil too much, I started doodling sassy Zenyatta. And now I have too many fun ideas to stop, I want to do a lot of these, I am only partially sorry. Also Ascendant is my favorite skin of his so that’s what I’m running with.
I decided I wanted to do a kinda sorta chronological order thing, so before I dip into my ideas for Zen sass with the rest of Overwatch, I’m going to have to get Genji through Shambali rehab.
I’m going to keep at it till I run out of ideas or it stops being fun, so here’s #3. That being said, holy crap I did not expect so many people to like my dumb sassy Zenyatta doodles, you guys have made me so happy, thank you. ;u;
I wanted to get this done sooner, but life and whatnot was cutting into my doodling time. Going easier on Genji in this one (at least no threats of violence), but I figure he’d have to get with the program eventually. Sassy Zenyatta still is calling out him out on his angst, of course. And I gave Genji the green hair out of pure self indulgence, cause that is kinda the theme of this whole series. :P I’ve got maybe one more of them hanging out in Nepal before I’m feeling like I can dig into the rest of the Overwatch crew.
Ok, so, full disclosure: I am completely neutral on the genyatta ship. I’m not bothered by people tagging any of the previous sassy Zenyatta comic junk as “genyatta” I honestly have no particularly strong feelings one way or the other on it. That being said: It was just funnier to me if Sassyatta appreciated the aesthetic of dat ass. I’m not going to get all carried away with it, but if it makes me laugh, I’m going for it.
This caps off all I had in my head for chillin in Nepal, so now it’ll probably be less linear as I get through my grab bag of ideas for this ridiculous series.
