so fun story from playing pokemon earlier
i was fighting a carbink, and it called for help. but it didn’t call another carbink, no, a sableye turned up. i was a little confused, but i rolled with it just figuring it was another part of the mechanic i hadn’t seen or heard about yet.
until the sableye straight up attacked the carbink. not me. not my munchlax just sitting there. the carbink. knocked it out easily too, since i’d got it down to one health trying to catch it.
now again i figured this was just another part of the mechanic, until i caught that sableye instead and read it’s alolan pokedex entry:
“It’s a fiend for gemstones, so it stalks Carbink. Unfortunately, Gabite almost always grabs them first.”
carbink is covered in crystals. sableye stalks it because of that. this sableye i caught just fuckin straight up came and attacked this carbink when it called for help because it saw a fucking opportunity
like what. the. fuck.
and i now have a little murderous sableye called opal just chilling in my box
Did you know that Mareanie will attack the Corsola that summon them? Mareanie’s Pokedex entry from Moon states:
It’s found crawling on beaches and seafloors. The coral that grows on Corsola’s head is as good as a five-star banquet to this Pokémon.
once i was battling a stufful and it summoned another stufful and its friend murdered it right in front of my eyes and i haven’t recovered
….. this game got hella weird. But in a cool “worldbuilding/nature is beautiful” sort of way.
