One major problem is people keep trying to sue hospitals ALONE.
Keep in mind these hospitals have other patients, it’s not just about you, if you were mistreated, it’s very likely many other people were too. Find those people. Connect. Work together.
Can’t afford an attorney? Then find more people. The more people work together, the more awareness spreads, and the more people can work together to not only afford a good attorney, but it gives them more strength and a more likely shot to win a case.
If people keep trying to do this all alone, they’ll get eaten alive.
Hospitals have a lot of money, and many aren’t using it for their patients’ comfort and wellbeing. They use it to keep themselves safe from lawsuits.
They’re also using young nurses and volunteers to do the dirty work for them, so a lot of them are just doing as they were told without realizing that they’re in fact being made to commit malpractice/abuse to patients.
They’re reusing old equipment, not keeping mental wards sanitary, not listening to patients under the assumption that they’re ‘crazy’ but also ‘abled adults’.
Nurses are getting thrown under the bus when they’re just following orders from the higher ups.
So please, don’t stay silent.
No more Stockholm. No more Milgrim. No more Stanford Prison.
This shit isn’t just theory, it’s real and it’s out there and it’s happening.
Keep safe, find each other, find support groups, discuss, and work together.
The future can be changed if we start moving in the present and stop letting the past and fears keep us silent. Fear is real, but to combat fear, we need to work together and help people realize they are not alone in this.
