Johnathan is one of my favourite characters because despite being the comic relief, he is so fucking clever. hell, in the sequel, he puts his life on the line to distract anck su namun while his nephew uses the book of the dead to bring back evie. Also, he even helps his nephew with the book because the nephew is stuck on the stork symbol that he was stuck on in the first movie and despite it probably being there for a continuity nod, it still shows that he does have a pretty great memory and is a decent learner.

Also he can pick the head off a pygmy mummy from 200 meters away.
