more highschool au stuff, John and Vriska have a shitty teen relationship for a year and a half (starting at the end of freshmen year) with lots of weird, awkward pda and just general mehness cause Vriska is way too into herself to date anyone romantically. anyways it causes a ripple effect where Dave and Karkat spend more and more time together alone (another detail that builds into the slowburn) its also the start of Vriska’s davekat shipping.
Lastly even after a year and half John and Vris barely do anything besides some light kissing/hugging cause Vriska keeps inviting a certain friend to every single date they go on
The problem is that even if Trump loses all of the people who support him still exist and are still out there creating the social climate that allowed him to get this far in the first place.

The best analogy for this situation that I’ve heard:
Imagine that you and four of your friends are trying to decide on something to do. Three of you vote to go to the movies, and the other two vote to kill a puppy. Even though you ultimately end up going to the movies, you still have to deal with the fact that two of your friends are 100% down with killing a puppy.
