I just realized, what is up with trios of girls where the leader who has a bow, the sweet innocent girl and the tomboy that somehow causes them to try and force their teacher into a ship with one of the leaders family members?
And it doesn’t help when you notice who storyboarded/wrote and co-directed the episode.
(Seriously though, these two episodes follow almost the exact same story beats. This was either done on purpose or a huge coincidence.)
If it was done on purpose it could be to catch the eye of those who used to be fans of powerpuff girls and would catch the similarities. Or it could be due to time restraints so instead of having to figure out some whole valentines day special they just rehash one of the scripts from their old show.
If this doesn’t confirm that PowerPuff Girls and Dexter’s Laboratory take place in the same universe I don’t know what will.
they’re also in the billy and mandy universe. And I don’t jsut mean the reference from teh beuty pagent episode, I’m talking about princess morbucks making a cameo at one point in billy and mandys classroom

it’s the Land of Song and Cogs.

it’s got Bronze cites of gears and cogs separated by blue fields of reeds that whistle dixie. It’s got one large clocktower and the hour hand may or may not be the legendary weapon she will get by ripping it off the face (pissing off Hephaestus in the process)
