“only art blogs get popular in this fandom”
There are like a few bullshit things wrong with this statement, such as most of toonblrs popular posts are ingame screenshots or text.
Even the good arts that ARE popular are scraping up about 20 notes (even though the amount of notes are kind of irrelevant bc they’re like 90% likes).
Also you’re fucking shitting on those artists who put effort and consistancy into their work and that kind of childish fucking attitude is what pushes people away.Grow up.
(and on a side note, a lot of people are saying this bullshit lately and those people need to fucking stop.)Would people rather there were no artists? Because the entire argument in itself is RIDICULOUS.
Because we don’t draw for attention, we draw for ourselves and and to share something we love with others. That, and to try and bring a little more art into the community– because hey, who doesn’t love art?
Apparently the people who attack artists who are just doing their own thing.
And so what what if an artist gets a lot of notes on their art?? Are you saying their hard work and effort and TIME doesn’t deserve to be seen? And usually when they do get notes, HALF of them are likes, USUALLY by their friends. So CHILL.
We need to kill this dumb idea of “popularity”, because this isn’t fucking middle school. We get nothing out of being here except for the interactions we make (which we are usually the ones to take the first step to, anyway) and in ANY other community, nobody would be complaining about having art for the game they love.
If your main focus is being popular among strangers you need to resort your priorities.
I came into this community having NO friends. Absolutely none. I just wanted to meet people who loved this game as much as I did. My anxiety was at its worst, but I still did my best to make the friends that I have now and to have a good time– my focus wasn’t on getting notes. Because notes really mean nothing to me. I’m just some high schooler on the other side of the screen struggling to live his own life, and to make art to share with people.
THIS IS A GODDAMN TRUTH
Not everyone is out to get you.
