The republican of this age are so conservative they are considered reactionary I think. They basically wanna make revert the country back to what it was decades ago. Anyone who even wants to just keep things as they are still look liberal compared to them. Honestly, Bush would make a better president than any of the current republican candidates. Unfortunately he already won twice.
