I’m a page
designer for my school’s newspaper. We cover our printing cost with ads, and
usually that doesn’t cover all expenses. Since we have little income we try to
please our customers so they will buy an ad space again. I had two ads from the
same company going on my spread. Our ad manager had designed one ad and we were
waiting on the other from the company. I put placeholders on my page until the
ad was sent.
I received two
ads instead of one: they were both in neon script font over stock images, and
were in awkward, non-standard dimensions that didn’t fit our page, and were
larger than the spots they paid for.
The email insisted we use these ads exactly as they are.
Me: (via email) The
ads you sent us are in the
wrong dimensions for what you paid for, and we have already designed an ad
for you. Can you either send us a reworked version, or let us edit these
ourselves?
Client: I would like for
you to use the ads I sent. You can rearrange the paper.
I put the ads on the page as is. It was ugly and horrible. I felt
ashamed.
I am barely over 18 and can meet
deadlines and requirements better than the business owning adults in my city.
Sigh… Somebody used my art in their youtube video. I wouldn’t mind so much if it wasn’t some dime a dozen stupid ‘worst of DA’ video by a hack who can’t even draw with MS Paint.
So yeah, I’m offering him the chance to remove my art, take the video, and actually get permission from the artists and properly credit them… Or I’ll do a copyright strike.
I know it’s petty. But I feel it’s my obligation to shut down people who think they can just showcase the works of other artists under some kind of mocking title without asking for permission first. Or at least not even bothering to link to the original.
I saw the video and most of the art isn’t bad per say, its mostly just fetish art that the douchebag feels the need to shame for some reason.

dont fucking think that shit is okay. im constantly hearing this shit, along with you bitches complaining about how people who work in nail salon’s speak their own language while in your holy presence. its their first language for god’s sake. it comes much more easier and naturally to them, why wouldnt they speak it? if youre so uncomfortable with it, take your fucking business elsewhere because these women work way too hard to get disrespected with crude, racist comments.

I worked at a nail salon last year and when the nail techs spoke to each other in their native languages, it was almost always to coordinate things like “hey you, make sure to help that customer gets some slippers on” or “that customer needs to pay 25 dollars” or “hey can you cover the front desk?”… or even just talking… about their weekend or something…. like you’d talk to your co-workers yk?
Yet non asian customers are always so rude and suspicious that we are somehow talking shit about them. Like… trust me. They have got better shit to talk about.
When laughter bubbles up after an exchange of excited vietnamese or chinese words, customers are so quick to assume that they are talking shit when they’re literally just talking about something funny that happened last night. Or something silly one of their kids or spouses did. Or a pun.
And honestly, if they -were- talking shit about you, you probably deserved it bc you were a rude or unpleasant customer.
Asian workers get ridiculed by non asians so much for how our language sounds smh.

The city of Flint, Michigan, best known across the nation for a water-pollution crisis which left an unknown number of residents exposed to dangerous levels of lead that has not yet been resolved, is running into major problems with another public utility. Trash pickup in the city is suspended until further notice, and the infrastructural ramifications could be devastating.
They need to sue the entire local government and take it to the Supreme court
