With holidays coming fast again, please remember surprise pets are never a good gift. If you wish to buy someone a pet for the holidays, please discuss it with them first to be sure they are in a position to be able to care for the animal. If you really must have some form of surprise to it, surprise them with the supplies not the animal. Then discuss with them if they can have the animal. Animals are living creatures, not toys or things to be thrown around. Animals are a commitment.
