2 problems with that.
1) she’s dead so hats would be under the “bury your gays” trope
2) pearl had an entire song about how rose never reciprocated the feelings. Rose didn’t have romantic feelings for pearl.
Just as an fyi, Greg and Pearl's dance was designed to fit friends. How they held hands is standard for coworkers and friends. They change who leads the dance several times and Pearl tends to do the generally deemed masculine moves.
