While I do stand corrected, using a homestuck panel to represent the fires seems like a wildly inappropriate way to get your message across.
One shouldn’t have to check the notes for further information explaining your reference if the message had been clear in the original post. A simple reverse-image search yields that it’s a homestuck panel, you can’t fault people for not immediately connecting it to the Chernobyl fires.
Tbh the issue imo was that not many people know about the fires so like, the abstract gets confusing. But the same could be applied to any of the images if someone somehow didn’t have the background knowledge
It’s okay to miss the mark first time, just please don’t argue ❤️
The difference is that the first three images are well-known memes. Memes by their nature require additional context, but follow set rules to help the reader understand what it’s about.
The fourth image isn’t a meme and isn’t acting as one (through edits or captions) to guide the reader to conclude that it could be referencing anything other than itself. Hence why there are so many notes of people either not understanding it at all or misattributing it to the source material.
i mean the radioactive fires on lowas were enough for people to realize that I was making a reference to the radioactive fires of chernobyl. The homestucks are just reading too deep into it.. Or not reading deep enough?

If you see this, don’t just sneakily tell the woman or the bartender. Shout for everyone to hear “Hey, you just put something in that drink!” While pointing at the person.
If a predator misses target number one they’ll just go for target 2. If you shame them out of the bar they’ll never come back.
And there is a solid chance of a collective asswhoopin, or an actual arrest for attempted rape.

If you didn’t know the hand was her father, the squid thing her mother, her parents left her at an orphanage when she was a baby but in reality were looking out for her all her life

Her mother used her Ph.D in Exolinguistics to forge a note in an incomprehensible alien language to make the deception seem legit, so nobody would ever question why she was the only cyclops, or suspect her of being a mutant on the surface, which was illegal.

bruh, that wasnt even mainstream media until like 2 days after this post. when this post was made the only disaster in april was the radioactive wildfire. the volcanoes hadnt erupted yet. the earthquakes and storms hadnt kicked off and the chlamydia wasnt a major thing until a day or two after this post
