Did you know that if you suffer from depression / anxiety or any other mental illness, you can register your dog as an emotional support animal, making it illegal for a landlord to refuse to rent to you? That’s right. No breed restrictions, no weight restrictions, no matter what, they are not allowed to refuse.
No, no, please do not use that site. Please. Any site that charges a fee for this is a huge scam, all you will get is a meaningless piece of paper that your landlord can shrug off with no consequences. Unfortunately, the internet’s full of unscrupulous assholes who have no problem preying on disabled people.
Emotional Support Animals are a thing that your doctor can legitimately give you a prescription for, but you have to go through your doctor to have any leg to stand on and it isn’t a no-strings-attatched trump card over your building’s animal policies - you landlord has to make reasonable concessions, but they can still object if your animal is disruptive to other tenants or destructive of property. The law protects your right to have a companion animal to help you function, not your right to have a hundred and thirty pound furbaby you insist can do no wrong even while it’s eating holes in the walls and barking at the neighbor’s children.
If you rent your home and want to establish your pet as an emotional support animal, the Service Dog Central website has a page with advice for securing an emotional support animals in housing, including samples of what your letter to your landlord might look like, and how to write a “resume” for your pet to establish that it’s suitable as an ESA.
Please be careful and do your research - stick to websites associated with nonprofits and educational institutions, and don’t pay any money to anyone who isn’t your doctor or your lawyer. See also, the aforementioned unscrupulous assholes.

I am an artist. I enjoy headcanons and ocs just as much as anyone else but I’m not forcing them on anyone. the problem with this comic is that it’s a half assed, regurgitated excuse to not include diversity in their story. it’s really, not that hard to include that little slip of diversity in your characters or story, and pleb is just coming up with excuses as to why she shouldn’t- her shitty history of being a dick aside. not to mention the “fan” in her comic reacting to being told to make her own characters is some of the furthest shit I’ve ever seen. this comic is just a way for pleb to take a stab at “sjws” for something a radical probably only ever did once, pat herself on the back for it, and then move on to the next bullshitted excuse she decides to throw out there.

another user commented in agreement with you, linking to a ridiculous article from a wildly bias “news” source (comicsalliance, if anyone cares, which is a hilarious joke of a site on its own since its whole owner/editor base is a bunch of nepotists with everything to gain by shilling each others comics) about why its every creative individuals mission to include diverse characters in their own creations. which you know, it’s not, but thats neither here nor there.
its nobody elses business to do “your” work for you. if you feel under-represented in comics, cartoons, stories, fiction, etc, start creating things you can identify with. it is absolutely insane to suggest that another artist, or writer, or whomever, who already have an established work, to change up THEIR work to better suit YOUR needs. you don’t go to a friends party and demand their change their cake from vanilla to chocolate just because you want chocolate. sure, you can request it, but they’re not obligated to humor that request. so, your options are what here? either dont go to the party because they dont have chocolate cake, OR, maybe bake your own chocolate cupcakes and bring it to the party yourself. maybe some people will love your fuckin chocolate cup cakes. maybe your chocolate cup cakes will be a big hit. never know unless you fuckin’ TRY instead of, iunno, throwing a big baby tantrum because there wasnt chocolate cake in the first place.
i hope that analogy makes sense to you and you dont take it as a literal fuckin suggestion about friends and party/cake and how your FRIENDS should just be CONSIDERATE of EVERYONES WANTS because that would just be another way of saying that you are entitled to be a bossy piece of shit who wants everything to be about themselves.
point is, is that no, you dont have the right to demand people include THIS or THAT in their works, and you sure as hell dont have the right to run a smear campaign against an individual because they didnt include THIS or THAT in their works at your “request”. you can ask, yes, but realize that their world doesnt necessarily revolve around you. realize that you have the creative power and ability to do your own thing and make your own works. i implore anyone who has ever felt slighted by an individual (or company, whatever) to, at the very least, try to make their own… representational, diverse…. thing.

my point was that you shouldnt have to come up w excuses to NOT make diverse characters cause… thats pretty problematic. definitely my fault for not looking at the link, and that was a pretty ridiculous exchange you had. but the way you presented the issue in the comic made it sound like you just didnt want to make diverse characters, period. and ive seen the fights youve started in the (semi-recent) past and other issues youve run into AND how dramatic you tend to be in your comics so….. yeah.

Almost any and all media forms are also a form of art.

Let me explain it to you simply.
Art is expression. An expression of the creator. Whether it be a story, or a character, their writing style or the curves of their pen or brush, the way they draw hair or hands, there is a REASON artists have different unique discernible styles and are encouraged to develop their own. BECAUSE THEIR ART IS THEM! Facets of them, pieces of them, their hopes, dreams, the long hours that they’ve worked to reach the point where they can create the work that they create.
And that should NEVER be sullied. Art should NEVER be sullied by outside influence. It comes from within. It comes from the heart and the mind in ALL it’s forms.
And you can dislike it. You can hate it. You can scream about it. GOOD! DO IT! Art is about expression. If the art has made you feel something, good or bad, that art has succeeded! And thats the point.
So let me say this part clearly, and this counts for movies, books, pictures, EVERY FORM OF MEDIA POSSIBLE….

Just gonna tack on that not supporting everything trans does not equate to transphobia
Transphobia is saying outright “I won’t write trans characters because I hate trans people.”
Transphobia is “All my characters are cis to spite trans people.”
Transphobia is not “My comics are my creations. If you’d like more trans characters, I encourage you to make some!” Honestly it’s really good advice because it’s not him saying he’s never gonna do it, it’s just him telling them If you don’t like what you see here, then go make what you enjoy!
There’s nothing stopping him from making trans characters in the future, he never gave us any reason to suspect that he’s a transphobe, he just says that what he writes is his own. And for that matter, the real question is: Why are people questioning what he writes? Is it really a requirement of life and art to write lgbt characters into everything? Why is not doing so an immediate act of phobia? Maybe some people just use straight or cis characters because it’s what they use/need to use? What’s with this hatred?
