1) they expensive bruh 2) none of us kno the dif btwn a fucking diamond and some fancy ass glass ur capitalist rock hierarchy has no control over us

4) we get excited when our date buys us an appetizer, we don’t even comprehend people buying us rocks that would force us into debt for ten years

5) Diamonds aren’t even that rare, the market is just controlled by a monopoly that creates a false shortage to drive up the price

6) there are prettier rocks

7) the market is saturated and heirloom jewelry is easy to come by and less expensive.

8) the demand - the entire tradition of engagement rings - was created by above monopoly with a (pretty sexist) advertising campaign

9) diamonds are carbon, they’re coal transformed by heat and pressure, and we are having none of that fossil fuel

10) We liked them better when they were still underground?

11) They don’t even make that good friends
