I lost a lot of friends due to this concept, and sometimes they even seem to ignore what I do for them since it’s not as good as someone that’s popular might be able to do.

There’s also a possibility you’re not understanding how busy someone might be having to handle a lot of fans
Maybe they aren’t talking to you because they’re busy, or maybe you focus so much on their popularity that it makes them feel like you’re jealous all the time so they start to avoid you because it makes them feel bad to have someone talking about it all the time
Heck, it’s very possible they made new friends who get along better with them. For all we know, the relationship anon has with these people could be toxic, considering ‘they even seem to ignore what I do for them’.
It sounds like you’re an easily jealous person, and I don’t think anyone would want to hang out with that for extended periods of time if that’s how you present yourself.
I have plenty of not-popular friends that I speak with frequently. And I have a lot of non-artists.
But people tend to only look at the ‘popular’ people that I know and then act like those are the only people I pay attention to, when in fact that person is only paying attention to those people and ignoring everyone else I talk to. Then I get accused of ‘only hanging out with popular people’ when no one even bothers to think I might have more friends than that.
I’m pretty sure ‘popular’ people tend to be friends because they have SIMILAR INTERESTS AND TALENTS that they can share.
You getting popular wont change how you communicate with people. If you seriously think friendship is a popularity contest, you might need to consider how you perceive friends.
I have a popular friend who I’m going to keep anonymous and whenever people try to be friends with her, they treat her like a character rather than a human being behind a computer screen. It really makes her sad when that happens. She tends to shut herself out from time to time.
Oh my god, I just realized…Does this mean Rumple fought constantly with the Dark One when he was around Belle to not harm her in the beginning of their deal?
Not only in the beginning…I think the DO told him to kill/hurt her until the last second (I mean the last scene in season 4 finale). That only makes me have more respect for Rumple as a character because he fought the darkness every single second since he met Belle.
This literally changes everything I thought I knew about their relationship.
What if the dark one kept telling rumple “she doesn’t really love you” the whole time and that’s why he kept telling Belle “no one could ever love me”?

See this is another reason I love the Dark Swan arc. We can have all these new angsty head canons about Rumple.
I mean, he gave in pretty quickly. I imagine the voice was just telling him Hordor and his men were going to kill Bae and he had to protect what was his and kill them first. And he did. But I wonder if when Belle popped up and he had a True Love and the DO was threatened if it popped up again. And definitely told him over and over that Belle didn’t really love him. No could ever love him. His own father didn’t want him why would Belle etc.
YES THAT’S THE THING HE WAS FIGHTING IT THE WHOLE TIME THAT’S WHY HE WAS SO QUICK TO PUSH HER AWAY AND NEVER BELIEVED SHE LOVED HIM UNTIL THE VERY END BECAUSE HE WAS JUST A SPINNER FIGHTING THE DARKNESS AND YES PEOPLE ARE GETTING IT NOW!!
I think the dark one kept telling him she only wanted to steal his power and when the curse was almost broken that one time after the evil queen told her how to break it, he snapped back to being the dark one and forced her into the dungeon and took away her library for a bit because he thought his suspicions were confirmed. So yeah, the dark one WAS telling him that she never loved him and that she only wanted his power the entire time.
