Sharpay and Ryan’s version of “What I’ve Been Looking For” peaked at #35 on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts while Troy and Gabriella’s version peaked at #67
That’s because the entire Musical device of HSM is corrupted.
In a real High School musical, it’s show first, talent second, as terrible as it sounds, and Ryan and Sharpay, who had been leading these muscals for years, would have 100% nailed the lead roles in any realistic musical set by a high school.
They’re great singers, and they have STYLE. They’re poppy, and fun to watch, full of energy, and they have PRESENCE on stage.
Troy and Gabriella, while they sound beautiful, would be better suited to sing in high end parties or restaurants, not in a musical. They’re…. bland.
When I go see Beauty and The Beast, I don’t want Belle and Lumiere to be monotone and slow, with soft voices. I want powerful voices, strong acting, and quick paced choreography.
As someone who has over a decade of Musical Theater under my belt, I know what makes good shows. Troy and Gabriella would be great understudies.
I am Silver Tongue, I am an artist. I have many characters and you can check out my art in the art tag. I occasionally practice witchcraft though I don't do anything too complicated. I am girl 2 and don't know what else to put here.
