I appreciate a good pony plushie, I do. But I used to make plushies and I understand the concept of material cost, quality, and time when it comes time to price an item.
When I see a shitty plushie made out of felt or fleece, with tacked on t-shirt transfer eyes or felt eyes priced at over EIGHTY freaking dollars?! I get more than a little peeved off.
The material cost alone is no more than 5-15 bucks, and half the time the plushies look very sloppy and awful.
To me, when people do that, it just reeks of someone thinking they can cash in on the plush market where some plushies sell for over 300 bucks.
But here’s the damn difference guys: The plushies are actually made from HIGH QUALITY material with proper structure and stitching that gives them a little thing we like to call QUALITY.
Sometimes, on ebay, I see some of the worst hand made plushies being reposted month after month by idiots who just don’t understand that NO ONE is going to buy their shitty fleece and felt lopsided cheaply made monstrosity for 140 dollars. NO ONE.
Look, all the power to you if you want to sell plushies. But if you are new at it, or if you use cheap materials, if your plushies don’t look as quality as the others selling for that price, use your brain and price accordingly or else no one will be interested.
