i think its cute how all the cgs land after unfusing, like garnet is in control and has herself together as always, pearl is steady but not quite as steady as garnet and amethyst is. on her face

I HONESTLY WORRIED SO MUCH ABOUT THAT WHEN HE SAID IT. LIKE WHAT ABOUT STEVEN??? WHAT DOES STEVEN WANT TO BE?? WHAT DOES STEVEN WANT TO DO?? THIS POOR CINNAMON ROLL HE’S JUST A BABY BUT ALSO NOT??

That in itself isn’t healthy [I can’t be the only one who thought that]… What about him? What about what he wants to be?
But we already know what Steven wants!
We’ve known ever since Tiny Floating Rose asked him when he turned her room into the entire town. He said he just wanted to go back with the Gems.
Much later on in “Chili Tid”, he dreams of the Gems as ordinary human beings. Pearl being a fussy mother figure, Amethyst skateboarding down the stairs, and Garnet having two normal eyes and inviting to a party.
This is what Steven has always wanted. He never asked to have people think he’s his mother and want to kill him. He never asked for the Gems quietly shift some blame to him for Rose being gone. He just wants to live an ordinary human life with his family and friends.
Remember how when they crash-landed back to Earth, how Steven tried to be a full Gem and block Connie out of his life and it didn’t work? I have a theory that we’ll see the opposite. That he’ll try to put the Gem part of him out of his life, and just live like a normal person. Away from all the drama with Homeworld and the other Gems. We know that it won’t work, and maybe it might be a good chance for him to better embrace both sides of his life.
Steven just wants a family. He just wants to hang out with his friends and do what he loves.
And what makes his story so great is that it’s all about the journey from the idyllic time of childhood to manhood, and the way his endearingly childish view of life is continually challenged as reality and responsibilities intrude.
And what make Steven so great is that he keeps meeting that challenge while holding on to the essence of his childish spirit, maturing, but refusing to let go of what matters to him.
im always a fan of the Stick To The Status Quo trope, everything goes back to normal yet nothing is the same as it was before

except not everything is back to status quo. Peridot now has no reason to stick with them except that she feels like she has a place where she truly belongs, lapis is back and jasper is free and yellow diamond is on her way to earth. That’s not exactly status quo. Also, pearl and garnet are probably gonna freak when they hear about what the cluster was like
my steven universe theory is that steven’s just gonna keep befriending villains until there’s just no villains left. he’s gonna have all those gem monsters flocking around him like puppies. yellow diamonds gonna come over for dinner on holidays. steven’s gonna hug whatever eldritch void horror created the gems. this is how galactic peace will be achieved
That’s nice and all, but what about the planet-sized gem monster in earth’s core?
