She was indicted again in December on obscenity charges for selling vagina art to crowdfund for the kayak and could spend two years in prison
In Japan, women’s vaginas are treated as though they are men’s property. The trains here usually display pornographic advertisements. As a woman, I find that blatant objectification to be humiliating. I’m disgusted by it. My body belongs to me. So, with this project I wanted to release the vagina from the standard Japanese paradigm. Japan is lenient towards expressions of male sexuality and arousal, but not so for women. When a woman uses her body in artistic expression, her work gets ignored, and people treat her as if she’s some sex-crazed idiot. It all comes back to misogyny. And the vagina is at the heart of it. The vagina is ridiculed. It’s lusted after. Men don’t see women as equals—to them, women are just vaginas. Then they call my vagina-themed work “obscene,” and judge me according to laws written by and for men. [x]
She plans to turn her trial in to a manga comic. She seems pretty sure she’s not going to do any jail time but if you’d like to help her pay for her inevitable fine and court fees, you can check out her online store. There are little glow in the dark vagina characters.
on the day before valentine’s day this year, my two friends (one male and one female) decided to do a social experiment. they posted the exact same status on facebook and left it up for five minutes, before taking a screenshot to see what reaction they got. I think the pictures speak for themselves.

when you leave fine arts kids alone
drama kids: all the wigs and costumes have been tried on by everyone
art kids: they got the clay and paint. dicks are everywhere
band kids: they built a fort out of the chairs. one of the drum majors has declared themselves king.
chorus kids: one guy plays pop tunes while half the girls surround the piano singing in terrible made-up harmonies. the rest of the class is on their fucking iphones.
computer tech kids: every single person is on coolmath4kids. even if they're seniors.
Orchestra: kidnaps a band kid and uses them for a ritual sacrifice
Creative writing kids: there are poems all over the walls and the desks and four people have passed out from caffeine crash/lack of coffee and all of the books have been read and argued about five times plus at least 4000 words of fanfiction have been written.
this website SAVED MY BRAIN when i was a stressed out college student who couldn’t stop flipping out long enough to prioritize. quite a few of you are still suffering through college so i hope this helps you too!! c:

i know how to do the calculation longhand or at least i used to, but hearing it from someone else always silences my irritating voice of anxiety a little better so hopefully some other people can appreciate that effect too
