Base Spinel is still developing. He’s only 19 where he is right now, and he’s just started developing small bursts of cognitive empathy

He’s been learning to ask how others feel and talk about his own feelings no matter how stupid they make him feel

RP Snippet from just 2 days ago:

“Why the hell did I even get mad at you… what’s wrong with me? Heh.. Jeeze…”

Randy blushed and chuckled softly, before gently pulling Spinel closer to him. “I- It’s o- okay.. I u- understand th- that wh- whatever th- the reason.. i- it was r- really i- important t- to you.” He softly rested his face against Spinel’s mane. 

“… Im…important to me…” he repeated quietly. That seemed to really leave an impact just then, making him hold and nuzzle Randy closer and tighter. Always, always his anger felt so pointless and it just made him more angry at himself for it. No one else ever considered it important, he knew they thought it was overreactions over little things so he always kept the little things to himself.

Is there a universe where he’s good and happy?

That’s honestly vague because a person is not one state of mind all their lives. Bad things happen, they make mistakes, people do bad things without knowing they are bad, people might be good but not know how to express it. Spinel has the POTENTIAL to be good and happy in almost ANY of the universes, but it all depends on how he develops and who with.
