Hey, everyone is upset over one of your vines. It's that "you're crazy man" one and those with mental illness feel offended by it. I personally don't understand the offense but I also do not have a mental illness so I can't speak on behalf of them. Just trying to help you out, maybe so you can address it or something. I'm sure you meant no harm, thanks. ☺️
Awww, yeah! I’ve recently heard from some people that a couple of my vines were seen as offensive because I was depicting the mentally ill in a stereotypical and negative light. One, being the “Frozen” vine where I took the lyrics from their song and acted sporadically, and the other, from March where my friend was in straight jacket. Growing up with cartoons like Spongebob and Looney Tunes, I had no idea that mimicking what I had seen on TV would be misconstrued as offensive. I want to wholeheartedly apologize to you guys for making you feel bad! I was trying to portray wacky cartoon characters. I was, in no way, trying to make fun of actual mentally ill people.
I try, try, try to the utmost degree to provide humor to the world and make it harmless and fun for everybody. Out of almost 800 posts, I seem to have made a couple mistakes. But believe me, I have learned from this, and it won’t happen again! Someone sent me a message shortly after the Frozen vine in October that they found it offensive, I apologized to them, and since then, I’ve striven to stay away from that humor. That straight jacket one was from March, and I’ve definitely learned from it. I’m sorry that those videos made it to the internet, but please believe there was no ill will meant to you at all! It seriously would wound me to the absolute core if people thought I was prejudice against anyone. I strive for equality, representation, feminism, and just all around world peace. I would never define someone by the mistakes they make, but rather how they will learn from those mistakes for the future. Once again, I am so sorry for the offense I caused, and I love you all so very much!
Also, I have been receiving messages from people, both mentally ill and allies, who have have been telling me not to remove and to remove for varying reasons. I’ve decided I’m going to remove them because I simply do not want to promote the idea that mental illness is something to be made fun of. I can’t control where the videos have already gone to online, and once again, I’m so sorry that I have hurt people with them or made them feel uncomfortable by watching them! But I can remove them at the source. I want to thank those of you who came to me and thoughtfully explained the situation. I wanted to write this out in order to keep you all abreast of the situation and be as honest as I possibly can! This is so that, by removing them, I’m not covering anything up. I made this mistake, and I wanna make things as right as I possibly can. I feel so bad that I’ve caused pain. It will not happen again!
