If you want me to take back what I said about worst horse, you have to admit that she is worst horse.
I see many people who want to be popular, who want to have more followers/ watchers/ subscribers etc, but if you think carefully, this is not the best thing you would wanted.
I’m not going to make examples here, I’ll just talk normaly..
1. Critiques. Those are actually a very good thing, because critiques help your art improving! By realizing your mistakes, you’ll start to not make them anymore! If someone has critiqued you with rude words, that’s something else to discuss about.
2. Getting featured. Some artists’ goal is to be featured at EQD’s Drawfriend Stuff, but do they really think that getting featured proves that their artworks are good? That does not prove anything! Art cannot work like this. Remember that famous artists are easier to found and to be featured on sites liketeribleponies and stuff like this…
3. Fame. Famous artists get love, admiration and kind words, that’s true, but they get a lot of hate, sometimes rude critiques and jelous people around at the same time! Why would you want too many followers, when some of them are there to see even the littlest mistake you do and start making awful jokes about it.
4. Understand. Why are you an artist? You want to be popular? An artist should draw for fun, art is something to enjoy while doing, not for getting fame! I simply don’t get it why some people dream for popularity every single minute. Instead of dreaming, make some new art!
5. This blog. Yes, this blog, is so perfect and explains things itself. There are tons of confessions like ‘I’m afraid to start an ask blog, but I’m afraid of being popular’ or ‘…the hate I might get’. You may laugh, but these people are right! Or others like ‘Even he’s a popular pony artist, I really don’t like X’s work…’ say it all.
So, think carefully. Do you really want to be well-known? I personally am not popular but also not unknown, and I feel proud of it. I feel great I’ve found the MLP fandom, a place where I can have fun in a safe way I need.
