you know what’s fucking hilarious to me. frisk doesn’t have a run cycle. their sprite moves at the same speed at every single part of the game except for that one room in the true lab. so when they’re fleeing undyne, they’re moving at the exact same pace as usual. you know what that means?
either frisk is just constantly running, or they were literally just walking away from undyne’s battle
I love the way people draw alphys naked where she’s clearly chubby and has rolls and is pretty.
So, how many of you have noticed this anomaly: Rose’s symbol is different from the cut of her gem.
The face of the gem, called the table, is triangular on her sigil but pentagonal on her actual gem. It’s not just an arbitrary symbol that has no relation to her gem either. On her and Steven’s shield you can clearly see a small Rose Quarz cut in the same triangular pattern as her symbol
So why is it that rose seems to have two gems when she is very clearly not a fusion? This may sound crazy, but what if at some point late in her rebellion, Rose cut her own gem?
Seeing as the stone is in fact a gem’s real body, in gem culture, such an act may be akin to self-mutilation. For what reason would any gem cut their own stone? Actually, there may be a good reason in Rose’s case.
Let’s talk about gem shards.
As we learned from Pearl in the Frybo episode, gem shards contain a powerful partial consciousness. During wars, Gem shards would be embedded into suits of armor to serve as robotic soldiers, and as we see when they are embedded in the Frybo suit, they can be smart and very powerful. Rose’s war for earth was incredibly costly her her forces. So much so that Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl were all that were left. With limited forces and a quickly deteriorating front line, Rose may have been forced to utilize gem shards for these purposes, and if she wanted to uphold the moral high ground, she may have needed to sacrifice parts of herself to do it.
We don’t know the mechanics of how stone damage affects gems. When Amethyst cracked her body started glitching and fell apart, while Lapis retained her structure with her only damage being loss of access to her wings, and mirrored eyes. Clearly the affects are variable, and if the damage was minor enough, the gem might be able to retain most of their functions. Rose’s gem doesn’t look broken, and anyone who knows the slightest bit about jewelery can tell you that cutting a stone doesn’t necessarily decrease its value
So, what evidence do we have that Rose cut her stone? How about the mural which shows her using what could very well be a gem shard as a weapon:
I’m talked about this mural before, trying to decode what exactly that pink diamond represents. My previous favorite theory is that the pink diamond represents… well… pink diamond. A separate entity who may have been corrupted into Lion. But in the mural, the diamond authority are represented with triangles, their post-rebellions symbol. It could easily be a gem shard, an especially powerful one Rose used and then hid when she was done with it. But where would she put it?
As we discussed earlier, Gem shards can canonically embed themselves in objects. Rose’s gem has already embedded itself in an organic component, Steven. Her gem shards could easily do the same thing, but first she would need a host.
As many theorists have noted, before Greg and Rose had Steven, they had an unnamed cat. In Maximum Capacity, Steven finds it’s carried in Greg’s old storage locker and says “Seriously, when did you guys have a cat?” I think that Lion may be the same animal, embedded with one or all of Rose’s cast off shard. This is what gives him his amazing spacial manipulation powers, while also explaining why only Steven can enter his mane, and why he’s so loyal to Steven in the first place: part of Rose’s consciousness resides in him! It even explains why Pearl didn’t know about Lion: He was just a normal cat until Rose put a shard in him!
