Apparently there’s a secret boss in Undertale who was made after a person who helped with the game, who also just happened to be apart of the furry community, and people are giving the game and the person who helped out flack just because they came from the furry community.
I’m honestly disappointed. I thought for a game that had a nice little message throughout about encouraging people to be themselves and accepting others no matter how quirky they are, that people would look past this one detail that in no way affects anyone or the quality of the game.
Okay, yeah, I meant to make a post about this myself, so allow me to do so while using your thing as a jumping off point.
I share the same thoughts as Grav here…Only replace “dissapointed” with “disgusted”. Just…This is wrong on so many levels.
First off…Yeah, it completely flies in the face of the message of the game. It’s just great how the whole “peace and tolerance towards all creatures" bit goes flying out of the window into a wood chipper when an actual furry is brought into the equasion. What’s funny is that there are THREE OTHER PEOPLE with furry inserts (Muffet, Toby (The annoying dog) and Temmies), but as soon as someone who may be slightly outside the norm even on that spectrum comes up, all hell breaks loose.
I mean, okay. If the So Sorry boss in question was focussed on, say, the character being overfed till they passed out or…SOME other aspect of the fat/inflation fandom that the flamers seem to take so much umbridge with, I’d get it. But no, he was just there, doing his own innocent thing. So people went and dug deeper and got retrospectively offended about it.
Also, another comment I kept seeing popping up was the character allegedly making “Brony faces”, which….seemingly infuriated people too. First off, what? Second - Even if it was blatantly doing meme stuff…Then Papyrus and Sans must have triggered the everloving FUCK out of them. They are bloody meme fountains, and when I mentioned this to someone else, they said that more silly meme-ish references come up later with other characters (*hasn’t played past the Mad Dummy so I cannot verify.*), So….What the hell makes So Sorry a major issue?
There’s so much other shit people are saying about this, such as the name “So Sorry” being Toby apologising to the fanbase (Neglecting the fact the person CHOSE THE NAME HIMSELF), to people saying it was hidden away out of shame, and other things. But the thing that creeps me out the most is people just saying that Toby should have refused the money and not done it, or that the person buying his way in was inherently bad and Toby should feel bad for it.
Just…Okay, let me just clear this up for you people who say this: This guy wanted to contribute to the game in his own way, and stumped up $1k for it. A THOUSAND DOLLARS. A thousand dollars that Toby wouldn’t have got otherwise. He helped the game significantly and got a part in the game that can be utterly ignored by people who may get triggered by it. That’s a good thing, right?
…I dunno why I’m even writing this. If one of the sort of people who gets offended by this reads this, they’ll just blow me off as having nothing but “furfag butthurt retardation”. If you are that one sort of person, though…If you won’t listen to me, at least listen to the guy who made the game.
Like, seriously, come on.
I’d like to add that a lot of people have also been very nice and supportive - I’ve received a lot of messages on tumblr from people who felt good about the inclusion for themselves. Since Toby spoke up about it, people have generally kept to themselves regarding the less considerate remarks. It kinda sucks that there’s still people set on hating me but on the whole the community, both furry and the Undertale fandom, have been very nice to me in regards to the whole situation.
I hope that others can feel accepted for their quirks and oddities, too. None of you are required to like me or to like the weird things I do. I know I’m a strange one but I do my best to be generally harmless, even if I can be a bit grumpy at times. If nothing else, that I draw what I draw meant I was able to contribute to the game. The donation may not have been much in the great scheme of the project, but it meant a lot to me to be able to give it my all.

Okay so a year ago I was playing on a Minecraft server and it had factions and shit, so I was in this one faction where everyone was obsessed with having a shit ton of diamonds in their chests underground / collection. Everyday, at least for a constant 3 or 2 hours, I’ll follow behind them and they’d constantly go mining and wont stop until their inventories are full ( I simply collected the ones off the floor ). I was the only one in that faction from Malaysia and the rest were from America, so they have the opposite timezone. So I ( I will admit, I was an avid griefer ) was alone on the server once and no one was online. It was the afternoon for me so it was probably in the 3 to 6 ams for them. I went down into the chest basement, took every single diamond the faction had and made tools and put them in the chests. The thing is, they were all diamond hoes
