Theory Time
This time it’s star vs the forces of evil.
So, when Miss Heinous had her cheeks show, I thought it was because there was a guy (marco) near her but then I remembered her second in command was a guy so her cheeks should be showing all the time.
Now here is my theory. The females of royal blood in Mewni have their cheeks show in the presence of a male mewni of royal blood, such as Stars mother in the always being with the king.
Now, here’s the thing. Stars cheeks are always showing. The only male she’s always with is marco. Well, this is the other part of the theory.
If you ever see art re-posted without permission on any website or by another tumblr user, and you recognise the artist, please tell them! You won’t bother them, and please don’t have the mindset that “many people have probably already told them” bc if everyone thinks like that nobody will help the artist
It’s called the pedestrian thought where you don’t do a thing because you think someoen else will do the thing but everyone just assumes someoen else will do the thing and then nobody will do the thing.
Deer Deer Deer. Am I doing this right? Deer Deer Deer! HOOONK!
Gif stands for Graphics Interchange Format. when graphics is pronounced “JAFFICKS” Then I will pronounce Gif with a “J”
^ This
It’s followed by an R of course it would be a hard g. But Giraffe is a soft g. Genius is a soft g. Gin is pronounced with a soft g too. GIF is I following a g, it would be pronounced with a soft g.
It aint Jif peanut butter though.
It would still be pronounced like that. The general rule is if the g is followed by an e or i, it’s soft g. U or a consonant is generally a hard g.
I will DIE WITH MY HONOR
Gear =/= Jear
Get =/= Jet
Gift =/= Jift
Give =/= Jive
In English, words with a ‘G’ followed by an ‘e’ or an ‘i’ can be pronounced with either a hard ‘G’ or a soft ‘G’.
Words with Germanic roots such as ‘gear’, ‘get’, ‘gift’, ‘give’ (see above) are pronounced with a hard ‘g’ while words with Latin or Greek roots such as ‘gem’, ‘general’, ‘giraffe’, ‘giant’, are pronounced with a soft ‘g’.
So no, it’s not exactly a “general rule” that ‘g’ followed by an ‘e’ or an ‘i’ makes a soft ‘g’ sound.
Additionally, “GIF” is an ACRONYM starting with a word that begins with a hard ‘g’ sound, so “GIF” is therefore pronounced with a hard ‘g’.
I am Silver Tongue, I am an artist. I have many characters and you can check out my art in the art tag. I occasionally practice witchcraft though I don't do anything too complicated. I am girl 2 and don't know what else to put here.
