Story time with Oncie in slight-relation to the dog post I just reblogged:

I was dating a guy that had a pitbull and he was abusive to it, and I didn’t know until I visited for the first time, and reached toward it, and it flinched. When he came in the room its tail dropped completely. So, naturally, I was pissed off, because animals are all my little babies idgaf if they’re bigger than me or not, so I asked him to leave the room so I could try to coax the dog to come see me.

It did, slowly slinking over and I snuggled him up as soon as he was relaxed. My boyfriend came back in, and the dog instantly cowered away, so I asked what was going on, and he went on a rant about how ‘stupid and useless the dog was, and how he had to constantly put it in its place’.

Long story short: I broke his nose and took his dog.

Another fun story: A friend of mine wanted me to visit her dad with her so I did and he had a pitbull. So I asked to see it, and he told me how violent the dog was, saying how it always attacked people and had bitten him, and said he was putting it down. So since when it comes to animals I have no regard for peoples stupid rules, I shoved past him and went back into this fenced in area he had in his backyard with the dog in it.

I opened the gate, and the dog instantly turned and looked, and I stepped in and the dog started running, as fast as it could. And I heard the dad go ‘watch your dumb friend get bitten. Maybe then she’ll learn her lesson” and I ignored him and knelt on the ground and spread my arms, and the dog barreled right into my arms and made some of the happiest puppy noises I’ve ever heard, and licked my face and wagged her tail and wanted to play and let me snuggle her

The point of these stories: Animals aren’t the bad guys. They shouldn’t be punished for the mistakes of the humans that own them. A dog shouldn’t be put down because it’s being abused and is trying to defend itself. Animals shouldn’t be punished for mistakes humans make, when we defend ourselves with guns and knives if something bigger than us attacks us. Why is it so wrong for them to use their teeth to defend themselves when humans abuse and beat them? For no reason? All dogs do is love us unconditionally, what reason do people have to abuse them? And then get them put down when they try to defend themselves? You made that dog like that you sonofabitch and the dog shouldn’t have to pay for you wrongdoings and inadequacies.

Never blame the breed, blame the owner. Dogs are little babbies by nature and must be given a lot of love and they are all so cute.

guide to new meme:

featherofficial:

featherofficial:

the snake/snail memes formed separately, so they have different formats. with snake, the full phrase goes first, but with snail, the shortened phrase goes first with the full version in parentheses.
basically it’s “snake people, or sneeple” vs “sneeple (snail people)”

everyone reblog this so people can be informed on proper meme usage

Emergency: People on Tumblr overreacted to something they didn’t fully understand.

In other breaking news water still wet. Scientists baffled.

Live and let live, today was a good day :)

Me: No one is hiring me

Adults: you’re just not trying hard enough

Me: oh yea, sorry about that. Let me apply “harder” this time. I’ll be sure to write my contact info extra “hard” this time. I’ll make sure to touch up my resume and make it hella “hard” this time around too.

preach

Adults:  You just need to hit the pavement, knock on some doors, call the hiring manager!

Every job application ever:  PLEASE NO UNSOLICITED VISITS OR PHONE CALLS.

Fact: Our reception pool forwards the names of people who call unsolicited on to HR, who puts the names on a DO NOT HIRE, CANNOT FOLLOW DIRECTIONS list.

This is what is the most terrifying about re-beginning the job search.

Fact: My brother was a store manager at AT&T for several years, and handled the hiring process. People that would call and call about the job wouldn’t get hired because, “They seemed to be the kind of people that would constantly need attention on the job, or wouldn’t make a good fit in customer service, because they don’t have the patience to wait for us to call them back.”

Meanwhile I’ve always been taught to do exactly those things because it “shows that you care and take initiative”

^

“We’ll drive you around to different places, and you’ll go in an ask for a job.”
“But mom, that’s an active construction site. Where they’re busy.”
“Just do it.”

Cue shouting at a kid who entered an active worksite against his better judgement and will.
