When people say “All men X” they are saying that it’s in their nature to do something and therefore perpetuate the idea that men are not responsible for their actions. This is what allows abusers to get out of the justice system on the argument that “it’s just what men do”
Stop treating men like animals and start treating them like human beings with conscious thought so that you can hold the ones that DO hurt people responsible for their actions.

The difference between men and bulllets is that men have conscious thought. They are aware of their actions. They know what they are doing. And many of them are aware that harming others IS wrong. So not all men is perfectly valid.
Also, if you stop treating men like humans and start treating them as hurting machines or animals acting on instinct, you are taking away any accountability they have on their actions. I’ve seen posts about how writers are “just writing” and shouldn’t get commissions.
I’ve even gotten hate for briefly pondering getting commissions for small drabbles.
Let’s face one simple fact.
Tumblr- You only give a fuck about writers when we do shit for free.
Writers do as much work as any other artist. Just. As. Much.
We struggle just as much with getting exposure. We struggle just as hard at word choice as an artist does at shading. We fight just as much with plotlines as artists do with sketch lines.
Writers are not something to be put behind a less-than sign.
People seem really good at demanding fanfiction, they seem really good at demanding their favorite pairings their way. And they seem just as good as getting mad when writers actually want some praise or recognition for it.
Think for a minute if all fanfiction writers, if all authors period, just stopped writing. Imagine you woke up tomorrow and every fanfiction website was empty, every single story and drabble GONE.
You people would throw a fit and a half.
So the next time you get some stupid thought in your head that writing is not an art, and that writers are not artists?
Then ponder this:
If its so fucking easy, go do it yourself and stop crying for us to do it instead.
Some people claiming something is easy and that they shouldn’t have to pay for it? Where have I heard that before.
But seroiusly though, if you are an artist, you should respect writers because writing is just as much of an artform as drawing or music.

The thing I hate the most about the last generations criticism of technology is that they refuse to acknowledge we have more options. That’s why we are online. We don’t have to go to a library to read a book anymore. Hell, the size of a book can intimidate some people but when you don’t know how long a book is, you aren’t scared for lack of a better word.
We can communicate with people across the seas and make friends, get to know how they are doing.
The internet has given us more options for
And with selfie culture, you can take a picture of a good moment with your friends and post it, saying exactly what the context was. When you’re 60, you can look back at the gallery and read the descriptions and have a more accurate memory of what happened than with just looking at old faded photos.
Also, internet allows for the spread of more accurate news on things like social issues. Because people can look up multiple sources whenever they want and draw their own conclusion. Without social media, Michael Brown would have died a thug and Leelah Alcorn would have died a boy.
entertainment and social interaction as well as issues so don’t let the last generation take that away from us.
