the virgin table
table most likely to go on a killing spree
The biggest ego but smallest dick table
OK, no, stop.
Stop with this whole using “virgin” or “well you must have a small dick” as a way to insult misogynists.
Because all that does is reinforce the idea that men’s status comes from the size of the genitalia and the number of their sexual conquests.
This isn’t a matter of “oh, well, you have to be nice! Nobody’s going to listen to you if you yell at them or insult them!” This is literally a matter of saying stuff like that being counterproductive.
When you say stuff like “lol look who has a small dick” or “found the virgin” or the above comments, the message you’re sending is that the person making the misogynist comments is unimportant and doesn’t need to be listened to because they aren’t able to sleep with/have not slept with a lot of women.
You are literally making THEIR argument for them.
You are implying that women’s value comes from their sexual availability to men and that men’s value is earned through their position in the competition to women.
There are valuable critiques of this idea to be made— you can talk about how this social construction, the idea of toxic masculinity, etc., does lead to problems and, yeah, does lead to killing sprees when (white) men and boys feel as if they haven’t gotten their “due” (their “due,” of course, being access to girls and women, especially sexually). But that is a very, very different thing from insults that simply reinforce that social construction.
I get it, I really do. We’re all a part of the same culture, so telling a guy he has a small dick as an insult just seems “natural.” But it’s not, and it’s harmful on multiple levels.
tl;dr: insulting guys by calling them virgins or saying they have small dicks reinforces the idea that men’s power comes from their conquest of women and is therefore ultimately conterproductive and harmful to women so seriously please stop it. oh also it’s not cool to call people dicks in general because it’s casually cissexist.
#stop calling guys virgins and telling them they have small dicks as insults 2015
also reinforces the idea that all men and only men have penises so let’s not do that either because that’s gross too
Call them whiney piss babies instead
Never not reblog
One thing that always bothered me about that picture of mulan, more than the obvious artifice which is pretty out of character, is the colour of her outfit. The general consensus seems to be that mulan took place in the Northern Wei dynasty, but during the Tang Dynasty which preceded it, the colour yellow, especially bright yellow, had become the exclusive domain of the Emperor. And in those times disrespect to the Emperor could cost you your head at best and the lives of you and your entire family at worst. So, y know, maybe don’t put her in yellow clothes.
I love the history side if tumblr
Help me prove a point
I have never reblogged anything faster.
Oh yeah
staff you are literally making your website harder for people to use.
That isn’t hyperbole or over reaction. You swapped the ‘post’ and ‘close’ (cancel) buttons.
EVERYONE has muscle memory, everyone is going to at least catch themselves about to hit the wrong button. But especially those with cognitive problems with change. You removed the formatting bar & hid it in popups.
This literally loses functionality with read more cutoffs, which did not formerly need an entire new line break to be used. It is intrusive when highlighting text for editing purposes (such as restructuring) and distracting. Yes, a large amount of users will adjust. However, there is a responsibility of accessibility for platforms, especially platforms that have a significant user-base that HAVE accessibility problems. In short, you are changing fundamental parts of your interface to appear “sleek” or “edgy” or whatever other reason you have behind the decision.
But in the process you are turning a blind eye to your users that are negatively affected by such fundamental changes.
In particular, the lack of a formal “beta test” (as far as I am aware) is particularly telling, as it is indicative of an arrogance of knowing what your users want without bothering to ask. Transparency in social media staff decision making is vital in maintaining trust with your users.
staff you are simply not trusted by your users. You have deserved this mistrust on multiple occasions.
And you are going to lose your user base.
You are not facebook. You are not embedded into society; there isn’t a tumblr page for my local dentist. The only incentives to remain here is content & social circles. BOTH of those can be relocated to literally anywhere.
Already there are websites being formed promising a better, more accessible, more transparent-decisions, more feedback-fueled experience. AND ways to migrate data. (And tbh, even lacking a data-migration ability, people can do things manually just fine.)
With your reckless actions, staff , it’s not a matter of IF you lose users, it’s a matter of when.
@everyone read this reblog this make it heard
I found these off brand cereals and they all sound like weird euphemisms for gay people

To Protect His Son, A Father Asks School To Bar Unvaccinated Children
By Lisa Aliferis
Carl Krawitt has watched his son, Rhett, now 6, fight leukemia for the past 4 1/2 years. For more than three of those years, Rhett has undergone round after round of chemotherapy. Last year he finished chemotherapy, and doctors say he is in remission.
Now, there’s a new threat, one that the family should not have to worry about: measles.
Rhett cannot be vaccinated, because his immune system is still rebuilding. It may be months more before his body is healthy enough to get all his immunizations. Until then, he depends on everyone around him for protection — what’s known as herd immunity.
But Rhett lives in Marin County, Calif., a county with the dubious honor of having the highest rate of “personal belief exemptions” in the Bay Area and among the highest in the state. This school year, 6.45 percent of children in Marin have a personal belief exemption, which allows parents to lawfully send their children to school unvaccinated against communicable diseases like measles, polio, whooping cough and more.
Carl Krawitt has had just about enough. “It’s very emotional for me,” he said. “If you choose not to immunize your own child and your own child dies because they get measles, OK, that’s your responsibility, that’s your choice. But if your child gets sick and gets my child sick and my child dies, then … your action has harmed my child.”
Krawitt is taking action of his own. His son attends Reed Elementary in Tiburon, a school with a 7 percent personal belief exemption rate. (The statewide average is 2.5 percent). Krawitt had previously worked with the school nurse to make sure that all the children in his son’s class were fully vaccinated. He said the school was very helpful and accommodating.
Now Krawitt and his wife, Jodi, have emailed the district’s superintendent, requesting that the district “require immunization as a condition of attendance, with the only exception being those who cannot medically be vaccinated.”
Carl Krawitt provided me with Superintendent Steven Herzog’s response. Herzog didn’t directly address their query, instead saying: “We are monitoring the situation closely and will take whatever actions necessary to ensure the safety of our students.”
(More from Shots: Health News from NPR)
“If you choose not to immunize your own child and your own child dies because they get measles, OK, that’s your responsibility, that’s your choice. But if your child gets sick and gets my child sick and my child dies, then … your action has harmed my child.”
Totally support this dad. Completely.
