Tragedy, another child is dead because of police aggression. Keith Vidal, who had just celebrated his 18th birthday last month, was killed by a police officer who responded to the family’s Boiling Spring Lakes home Sunday afternoon.
Police responded to his house after Vidal, who according to parents, is schizophrenic, picked up a screw driver and refused to put it down.
Mark Wilsey Sr., Kieth’s father, told reporters, two responding officers were able to calm Vidal before another officer walked into the family’s home.
It was when the third officer walked in that the 90-pound teen was stunned with a Tazer and fell to the floor.
According to Antohony Owens, a family friend, Vidal Collapsed backwards on to the floor the two officers jumped on top of the 5ft 3 100 lb Vidal to restrain him.
As Vidal’s Father tried to step in and grab the screw driver the Southport Police Officer that had instructed the other officers to use their tasers, moved between the father and the pile of people on the floor and said “We don’t have time for this” and shot Vidal Once in the chest as the other two Officers held him on the floor.
Vidal’s father then grabbed the officer as he was lining himself up for another shot.
This morning an event report of the incident was released that mirrors the family’s recount.

Every DYSTOPIAN movie we all have ever seen has cops in gear like today’s cops wear when anticipating civil unrest (or generally going into a “ghetto”.
The movie cops usually work for VERY RICH people (usually some conglomerate political entity) and have no mercy on “the others”. It seems like a Black vs cops issue right now. But it’s like that Holocaust poem (Paraphrased): ”First they came for the Blacks, but I’m not Black so I did nothing; then they came for the Hispanics but I’m not Hispanic so I did nothing.”…then it eventually ends with: “Then they came for me…”
I bet this won’t get as much attention because the boy appears white. But it should, because that means the situation is evolving from “cops vs. blacks” into a “cops vs. teens” situation. Which means EVERY teen needs to start watching out. No one can sit on the sidelines and go, “it won’t happen to me” (which you shouldn’t have been doing anyways. “Black lives matter” isn’t just a slogan. It’s the fucking truth!).
This is horrifying.

Huh.
The thing about Russell Brand is, yes, he’s wild and funny and does some bonkers shit, but there’s this absolutely stone-cold intelligent side to him that not a lot of people know about. He’s very aware of and very well-educated about the issues people are facing today, and isn’t afraid to use his celebrity status to help raise awareness.
He is just a beautiful, beautiful human being and I love him a lot.
