Although, in Moffat’s defense, he does become surprisingly self-aware in the Doctor’s line that his plan is, “Talk really fast, hope something good happens, take the credit.” Because that has, literally, been Moffat’s Doctor: a man with no actual agency, but instead rides on the actions of his predecessors and the happenstance of his current conditions. Moffat has been afraid to make his characters actually DO anything because DOING something means you have actions which you can be held responsible for. Most of his Doctor’s actions have been about UNDOing things that he was previously beholden to. Undoing the Time War. Removing himself from history. Rebooting the universe. Big friendly buttons that erase all the mistakes you made by making it so you never did anything in the first place. Because his Doctor’s greatest achievement has been living a life of zero consequences.
This whole review is hilarious but this part was probably my favourite.

Am I the only one who wants to make an FPS that actually follows logic? Like, have the red barrels not explode and have the cars not explode. Be able to shoot through a car…

Acctually, he may have gotten away with it because of a thing called Victor’s Justice. You know the phrase “History is writen by the victors?” Well, Victor’s Justice is a rationasation of all the war crimes cammited made by those who win the war. This video is a hell of alot better at explaining everything https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=DcckHAYCxGk

I would have accepted victors justice as an excuse, but there was no mention of the event that would suggest that is why he got away. If they even just mentioned it, it wouldn’t have irked me so much.

My headcanon is that pegasi are not as susceptible to the cold as unicorns or earth ponies due to being made for high altitudes.

Am I the only one who wants to make an FPS that actually follows logic? Like, have the red barrels not explode and have the cars not explode. Be able to shoot through a car door. If you get hurt, you stay hurt until you get it fixed. Make Kevlar not hold up against assault rifles. Make there be consequences for blowing up residential buildings, killing POWs, torture and using biological/chemical weapons like it ending and you having to start over from the beginning only AFTER you beat your mission. Make it actually follow the way the world works and then watch all the CoD fans complain about its difficulty and say something like, “What? So the only realistic thing you wanted in first person shooters was the fish AI?”

Would that include reopening wounds and affected aim and vision from whatever affects them?

yes. And fall damage can break your legs, forcing you to crawl the rest of your mission. And no checkpoints, death means you start the mission over again.

And then there would be a ‘realism/hardcore’ mode where if you die, you start the whole game over.

Yes. and there are some ways you can fail the mission in normal mode that would result in the game starting over after watching a lovely cutscene of you in court for committing war crimes.

“War never changes…unless you actually get realistic about it and stop fishing for CoD.”

There is one scene in one of the more recent CoD games where the “hero” commits four war crimes in less 30 seconds. He tortures a POW, uses chemical weapons, kills the POW anyway which also counts as taking justice in his own hands. And he gets off scott free without any explanation as to why. But the game will never get the CoD fanboys on their side because it is too realistic.
