Melon leans down and stares at the tiny human, looking for all the world normal despite his circumstances. It’s almost as if he didn’t just fall from the sky and break his fall with Melon’s head! The baby tilts his head, and Melon mirrors it.
A baby? Human baby? Here?? Surely he’s far from home!

AWWWWWWWWWWWWW YEAH! Finally posting what I teased a week or so back, and it’s the start of a miniseries based around Yoshi’s Island! Just in case anyone’s curious, Melon is the name I’m giving the green Yoshi here; he and the canon Yoshi we know are not the same characters; instead the Yoshi Mario befriends later will show up when he’s an adult! ^.^
As for the series itself: I thought it’d be super fun to retell the events of the original Yoshi’s Island game with my own spin to it. I used to fluff up the story of Yoshi’s Island with my imagination as a kid, it made an already fun game all the more fun for me. This will also double as a bit of an origin story to Mario and Luigi for my Super Mario Bros headcanon!
The aim is to tell the ministory in at least 8-10 parts, though it might end up extending to 12 parts depending on how I handle the ending. So far, parts 1-4 are already available to see on my Patreon, alongside the preview/sketch of part 5, so if ya want a headstart on the story (alongside additional early access content) take a peek at my Patreon! Otherwise, parts will be uploaded once a week on Fridays or Saturdays uwu.
But yeh! Our story begins! Here’s hoping ya’ll like the start so far! ;w;
Are you familiar with that weird Star Children lore they made as an excuse to make a new Yoshi’s Island game with different power up babies?
Of course, I’ve played the game years ago but I don’t care much about it, so it won’t have any bearing whatsoever in the miniseries nor my headcanon lore. Like I mentioned above this miniseries will be based on the very first Yoshi’s Island and the silly stories and such I used to come up with while playing it when I was a kid. o3o
Do you have any theories on why Ash hasn’t aged at all in 20 years?
My theory is that he stopped aging after he received one too many life-bringing pokemon teardrops while getting unpetrified in the first movie
i like the theory that in the first episode when he saw ho-oh, his deepest wish came true resulting in his eternal youth so that he can forever be a pokemon trainer
it fucks me up that tolkien only died in 1973. dude has the vibe of a victorian scholar who wrote all his manuscripts by candlelight but then you look him up and realise that he knew what color tv was. what the fuck.
I am Silver Tongue, I am an artist. I have many characters and you can check out my art in the art tag. I occasionally practice witchcraft though I don't do anything too complicated. I am girl 2 and don't know what else to put here.
