So, by now votes are in, and Scraps is the killer. WOW, what a shock.
But I make this post not as a ‘wow you guys figured it out’ but mostly because of just how much a debacle the whole thing was behind the scenes. What do I mean?
Well, before the Mayia murder mystery was even finished (We were literally in the process of wrapping it up.) I was contacted by Prince. Prince wanted me to do the murder for the next round, and I had to have that new murder set up, planned and drafted before the Mayia case was finished.
I had only about 10-30 minutes max to figure out a crime, motive, and how it was done.
I pitched poison. But that didn’t fly. Because ‘where do you get poison?’ It was made into a kind of deal scenario, where in exchange for poison, Scraps had to rip out the eyes of his victim. I wasn’t too jazzed on this, since why bother with poison then?
Extra wounds were added (that had nothing to do with poison. Bruises, signs of struggle, claw marks on the eyes, etc.) Then, a note was added. I had almost no input on the note’s final message, which Prince wrote and apparently it was ‘Eyes of the Seeker’ or something. Anyway, terrible to terriblier. You get the idea.
Anyway, this was all done up and published in about 30 minutes, with the victim only messaged at the last moment to let them know ‘oops you died.’ At that point even the victim wasn’t happy, and wanted to make changes, which were ignored.
Afterwards, I was told to write an alibi. I was fine with that, but then I was informed that nearly 24 hours would lapse between the murder and the discovery of the body. I figured I could get an alibi with another player, before it was heavily hinted at me that I wasn’t allowed to collab an alibi. Oh well, I could probably win anyway if I play my cards right in the inve-
Has anybody noticed why I was quiet the entire game? Why I didn’t have an investigation? At all?
I was informed by the game moderators that for Balance, I wasn’t allowed to participate at all. I couldn’t investigate, answer questions, and at one point I wasn’t even allowed to vote until I asked about it and that decision was reversed. So, I just wasn’t allowed to do anything, just sit and wait. This decision was reached in private, without my involvement in the process. It was a harsh penalty done for balance, on a case that I had already balanced rather heavily against myself.
Why did I write all this up?
Simple.
This wasn’t really a murder I was interested in doing. At most I went through with it because by the point where I heard the alarms going off, the murder had already been announced, the images drawn, and all that jazz. It was a murder by committee. A murder where ‘You should add in this evidence that points it towards you, just to be more fair.’ And by the time that ended the only evidence I had forged was a spoon, and a few strands of hair, while the murder had been escalated from ‘poisoned bottle’ to full on assault and eye gouging. At one point I had even been asked to hide the eyes on the bed of one of the other players. If the murder seemed all over the place, it was. It was a murder that was constantly being changed, and new rules added to make it nearly impossible for me to win. Even after the murder had already taken place.
I don’t blame the mods. I get what they were trying to do. But the way it was handled, the stipulations added after the murder was announced and I was no longer able to back out, and it all added up to the worst, and most obvious casefile ever.
For the next murderer? My advice, don’t talk to Prince. Go to Mayia-Mod.
Because personally, I didn’t have any fun in this game.
TLDR version - I was basically pushed to create a random murder as soon as possible. - Additional damage and body mutilation was added to a simple poisoning concept, and then extra evidence was added on top of that to point clearly towards Scraps. (Apparently I wasn’t even allowed to be using poison according to Mayia, but Prince did it anyway.) - The Victim was not involved until the very end of the planning phase. - I was told literally a moment after the murder was published, that I wasn’t allowed to answer questions or participate in the case. Thus basically locking me out of the game entirely except for voting at the end.
