did not realize there was a Gollum game out so I was staring at this thumbnail like ‘well damn the little dude had his problems but 22 minutes of criticism seems excessive’
Thinking about Ocarina of Time Link being sent back to the past, returned to the body of a child, never getting any recognition for his heroics because it all happened in a different timeline, and finally dying unsatisfied and becoming the Hero’s Shade from Twilight Princess
What the fuck
Nintendo b like “yeah the protagonist of one of our most celebrated and important games ever canonically hates his life after the game ends and becomes a sad ghost”
is it more fucked up than being a 12 year old forced into an adult body and facing horrors that nobody should ever have to know exists and carrying the weight of the world?
If I were a more poetic person I might assign some fantastical metaphor to how my originally brown hair turned jet black like my father’s when I hit puberty, with its colour only returning when I transitioned, once more becoming brown like my mother’s. But I know that’s just an effect of the hormone therapy.
Still, it’s something.
sounds like it could make a great metaphor for depression caused by dysphoria. the colour draining as the body grew more distant from how it was supposed to be and returning when it starts matching who you are.
wow players having to stand in lines for a quest because a relevant npc can only talk to one player at a time. is the funniest image on the planet
i need to correct this: wow classic doesn’t have any npcs that can only talk to one player at a time. these lines actually formed for a quest npc that players had to kill to complete the objective. knowing that i think this image is even funnier.
