all police media is propaganda etc etc but also the movie hot fuzz is a gay love story
@crossedeyes yeah,,, also the part where they fall asleep watching movies on the couch with their heads together,,,, the scene where danny gets nick to laugh for the first time,,, the scene where nick runs out to buy danny a lily for his birthday,,,, how danny betrays his dad and everyone he knows for nick,,, the classic self sacrifice wounded in the others arms trope,, the whole “actually I like it here” ending,,,, like danny teaches nick to live outside his job and nick teaches danny to be brave,,, they are in love,,, like this movie is a comedy but also it’s not
literally the more I think about this the more I’m going insane,,,, the fact that the movie literally opens with showing that nick’s girlfriend left him because he was too focused on his job and danny is the one who gets him to actually open up and live a little AND he never gets a new female love interest the movie just ends with them happily working together,,,, bitch it’s gay

ok yes I am rewatching it and I just realized the parallel of nick saying he missed a bunch of his ex’s birthdays and how she said he loved his lily plant more than her and then literally getting up and running out of the building when he finds out it’s danny’s birthday and he hasn’t gotten him anything to go buy him the Same Damn Lily Plant i ahhhhh
