Sneak peek of the art for the profiles I’m making for the main races of Lorule! The idea is to have a semi-speedpainted full-body shot + a portrait of an important character from that race, although I’m probably gonna leave a lot of it sketchy to get the work done quicker! We’ll see owo
At any rate, for context:
- First image is the design pass for Princess Hilda, who will be the representing character for the Lorians! I’m actually considering making her a queen instead but I also like the idea that she and Princess Zelda are the same age and are good friends, so I might just stick to her being a princess. O: Ravio’s concept isn’t done yet because I haven’t decided if he’s either her advisor, the court mage, or her brother. Hm….
-Rough sketch of the race card for the Mogma, a people of mole-like creatures who make their homes underground. They’re nomadic and very often make livings as reputable traders, and are known for being curt but practical.
-Rough sketch of the race card for the Yamatami, a race of people who have the ability to transform into giant anthromorphic snakes. They make their homes in the marshlands and are characterized by the animal masks they never take off. I seriously debated on making them tall as fuck but I decided against it, and instead trying to make them almost awkwardly long in the limbs, particularly the arms and neck. I might have to go back in and tweak the sketch to better reflect that but I’m liking where they’re going so far :3
I rarely ever show my WIP sketches in this stage in my galleries so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to show ya’ll as they are so far. uwu

the concept and idea of “you can always start trying to be a better person” is extremely important to me both in media and irl and i continue to be deeply deeply disturbed by the trend on this site pushing that these ideas in media are bad writing or even morally reprehensible
because theyd rather someone stay terrible or just straight up die than become a better person
from a compassionate point of view it’s deeply distressing and from a pragmatic point of view it’s outright frustrating
